I'm bored and feeling old, so heres a little game.

Basically what you do is visit this site, find a tune that you remember from the list of games and download the music file, then use this app to convert it to a midi file and we have to guess what tune the game is from.

Or if you grew up on other platforms (ie you're not an old bastard like me) just get the tune for whatever game you like and post it here.

So I'll start:

What game am I?

Sanxion loading tune was the best game music EVER!

Closely followed by the Last Ninja music.

I can't believe that's Steve Turner. The last time I saw a picture of him he was a freshed faced thing with long brown hair! When I was a young fresh faced kid myself I wrote to him asking whether he intended to release a follow up to the game Dragontorc. I remember going to great lengths to get his address too firstly by writing to C & VG magazine.

I had it on the C64 and Atari ST. Great game, and I never won one jousting tournament. I killed lots of horses though.

The Atari ST version is supposed to be the best - much better than the Amiga's. Worth a look if you've got an emulator.

<--- feeling nostalgic

OMFG.

The emulator (piss easy to use)

The games (all downloadable for free)

They've got the lot, The Last Ninja, Gilligans Gold, Fort Apocalypse, Raid over Moscow, International Karate+ - they're all bloody there! All I did was set the keys in the emulator (F9 to get into the options), then you press F9 to get into the loading screen, navigate to the games on your HD, and bingo - you're playing C64 classics!

AWESOME!

I was a child of Sir Clive Sinclair, and had very limited experience of C64.

What games should I get? I remember a very good version of exile on it :)

p.s. Spectrum fans should visit www.worldofspectrum.org , you can play 99.9% of every speccy game ever in your browser through the magic of Java.

Noone's given me this definitive list of what games to play.

Stuff I haven't played on spectrum would be good, but everything considered.

I never had a commodore, but I remember playing an msx version of this, and it sounds very similar. Before it got midi'd.

Answer here.
