Sorry to see you go mate, I still remember you from back when you first started and was asking me for advice.
Its a sorry state that Armsmen are in now but to be honest I do not see it getting any better, Albions classes a generally weaker with few exceptions but due to the larger population Mythic will not improve us on a one to one bases for fear of the wider spread consequences, this of cause means Albion can only compete with using numbers and therefore get shouted at for zerging, its a vicious circle that we cannot escape ourselves and Mythic will not fix because they are to scared to take drastic action to fix it (like combining class abilities).

From an Armsmans perspective we are simply no longer able to fulfill our standard roles to an effective degree, we can neither protect nor kill as competantly as we should be able to compared to other classes in our own realm or enemy realms. This has never bothered me personally as I follow my own role and up until recently the class was still able to compete in that field however since toa and recent patches its a struggle to even compete solo now too. You only need to look at the charts to see this, out of the top 20 Armsmen only 5 are still earning any realm points (and not many at that) and only me, bracken and jimmy are stubborn enough to keep earning any decent amount of rps per week still.

Will this get better with NF ? nope, if lucky we may be able to make a living as trebuchet bots. Im only playing still till dragonempires comes out but I do not know why, the only thing that keeps me going is the odd nice fight or duel I get occasionally and those are increasingly more rare to find.

Life as an armsman is bloody hard, most gimped char ever in a mmo imo. Mythic wont do anything so its either put up with playing a game you dont enjoy till some moron jerk in the mythic offices finally click and realise arms suck at everything, or go play something else.

Its a complete joke tho, if they gave all arms the oportunity to transfer over to mid as a warrior or hib as a hero I doubt there'd be any left in the game period.

Plus groups seem to hate us like the bane of the world, fact is most arms buffbots get more group invites than they actually do. Its complete shite... makes ya feel like you've wasted what isnt by any means an easy grind to 50.

Supposedly Mors is going, big difference that will make, /quitting is probably the wise decision, but I aint going yet, I have a gimp to get to rr10 and then I'll leave.

After I got rr10 to my SB about 2 weeks ago I've failed even get guild for my RM and I'm very close ending this game.

Leaving a guild due to low activity at a time where the temperature is 25+ in 99% of Scandinavia speaks for itself tbh.
But again lots are changing guilds in the summer looking for more activity. Usaly they don't find it.

Since the release of TOA, ALOT !!!!!!!!!!! have left Daoc, and i cant blame them, it is totally retarded of mythic to actually think that the "somewhat casual players" will EVER get anywhere in this expansion. I think mythic know's it, and maby are trying to fix it before its too late. Looking at the server population's on the EU-servers, there are 300 - 400 less on EACH server on average, compared to the days before TOA. on top of that, the ML ability's are totally out of the Daoc line, giving a crappy expirience of what the Daoc once was.

RvR is back as in the old days, and to be honest with the ML abilitys and artifact stuff i like it even more than before. but thats my opinion for what its wurth. Nice addon imo

Armsman suck m8, I know I am one, and we are nothing like heroes.

An argument could be made for chain +evade being just as good if not better than plate, hybrid spec isnt as effective as heroes because of the fact that arms have to double spec just for balance, it doesnt give a variance advantage after 50.

Paladins have the defensive base covered, with chants they make very good defensive tanks, that I agree with you on. The problem arises when arms try to spec offensive to actually get a group for their dmg output rather than defensive abilitys, mercs do better dmg over time, also have dirty tricks etc.

So arms are in this position, they arent the best defensive tank, they arent the best offensive tank, and they dont give anything to a group in way of buffs, regens, etc etc.

So basically your gimped to have them in your group.

Anyone who says "Theres nothing wrong with the armsman class" should actually take the time out to look at the test data keersdan has over on armsman.com

As far as Alb classes go armsmen are the least group friendly class in the realm, hell even necros have group utility.
