Believe it or not this isn't about the price of fuel breaking the £1 barrier again.
For the past few weeks I've noticed the cost of diesel is cheaper than petrol, why is this? I've only been paying attention to the price of fuel for the past year since it last shot up but I've never noticed diesel being cheaper than petrol before.

I've not seen it cheaper, but I have noticed the difference in price coming down rapidly. It is only 2 or 3 months ago it was 11p more per litre for diesel, but now it is just 4p round here.

Apparently the tax on unleaded and derv is exactly the same in this country, in France and other European countries it is lower on diesel. This increased demand for disel beyond the capacity the oil companies had and the price rose accordingly. Why it's changed now I don't know, but I'm all for it as I now drive a diesel Golf.

Good. Diesel always used to be cheaper than petrol. It only started going up when everyone else started using it.

So true, and it also went up when the government brought in the new company car diesel thing.

Absolute fucking robbery, they used the 'it costs more to make diesel than petrol' excuse not long ago, I wonder what their excuse is now. Honestly it makes my fucking blood boil
