They should have made this massive push 5 years ago, we have given these fuckers the best part of a decade to dig in.

Taliban had a way bigger 'army' 5 years ago and the Iraqi war was still going on so America was fighting on two frontlines at the same time so it wasn't possible back then

Rubbish, quite the opposite infact. Most of the nutters were in Iraq 5 years ago blowing up markets and butchering foreign civilians trying to rebuild the infrastructure. Those same nutters are now in Pakistan and Afghanistan planting 1000's of IED's a day, the terrain is better suited to thier tactics and they are planning on doing to the allies what the muds did to the Russians. Just look at the news, alot less is happening in Iraq than there was 5 years ago but Afghanistan is on the verge of becoming a powerkeg. More worryingly, Pakistan verges closer and closer to the brink every day because of weak government and a corrupt military.

Can someone explain why we don't pull out of Afgan and just drop a few nukes down?

At first, I was all for the wars in afgah/iraq. Then I lost a close friend

BBC NEWS | UK | Afghanistan death marine is named

Another friend of mine, came home a totally different person. Unbenown to us all, he had been in the SAS and the stories he told us shocked even us. For every soldier you hear that dies, there are 20 who have lost limbs.

Get our troops out now I say

With my brother going back to Afghanistan this August I can't disagree anymore with you Marc. Yes it is sad to see our troops getting killed or getting harmed. But I find it even sadder to see terrorists like the Taliban having a safe haven to produce more terrorists to harm us

Lets not forget that ours and the US government as well as the soviets were directly involved in nurturing these groups in the first place. The civilians in those areas suffer a hell of a lot. Pakistan is a melting pot that could go either way, and with nukes, let's hope they go the right way.

Good news indeed, perhaps one day we can all live in hope of every taliban member/leader being wiped off the planet... sadly I think it'd be impossible as they keep brain washing children to do their work.

The western world should realize that aslong as "the Palistine question" isn't solved, there will be more blood. Aswell as forcing "democratic" goverments, because it's the best thing there is. Sowing bombs and bullets in Afganistan and Irak really isn't gonne reap flowers.

"We" aren't trying to solve the problem, we want it to go away.

You are from Denmark tho, I think Denmark sends "peace keeping" troops to areas which US/UK already secured/low risk zones? Or am I wrong?

We are currently assisting the british troops with tanks in the huge offense that is going on atm

We are currently fighting on a regular basis in the Helmand Province just north of Gereshk, which Denmark helped clear of Talibans along with the Americans and the British troops, and just south of Sangin

Yes we are there to provide peace for the Afghans, but we are doing much more than just talking to the locals, helping them build wells and establishing electricity

We were some of the first to enter Afghanistan along with the british and american troops and have helped with establishing a much safer environment in the southern part of Afghanistan

Sorry, but it makes me mad when people think we do fuck all but hand out water and pens

The two soliders I know speak highly of your people as well, most of the time your guys are in the thick of it or running support logistics in and out of hotzones. Dangerous work in itself.

I was in infantry so i know how important logistics are, vital supplies, even down to that bar of chocolate from your ration packs to boost morale lol

the biggest morale booster ever (i was in before social networking sites etc) was receiving letters from loved ones. 10 years on i still have every letter laminated and tucked away safetly
