I'm still too pissed off about my XBOX going RRoD after so long without an issue that I couldn't bring myself to replace it. So, on that basis I've just ordered a PS3 320gb bundled with move. Should work out at about £220.00 after cashback.

Can those amongst us with skills recommend some decent PS3 titles. Things to do / avoid, etc.

Having just been through the God of War series, get it and play it to death. Fantastic.

Obviously GT5, Wipeout HD is amazing as well. Vanquish is fab, but you've probably already played that on Xbox. Looking to expand my titles as well, so will be interested in this thread.

If you liked KZ2, KZ3 is decent. Imo it's not quite as good, because they changed the feel of the controls. Aiming is more like Call of Duty/other console FPS, whereas KZ2 had a unique weighty feel to its aiming.

Demon's Souls is about the highest quality PS3 exclusive I can think of.
If you don't fancy that, try God of War or LittleBigPlanet. The latter is a riot in co-op multiplayer.

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are being revamped for a PS3 release later this year also, which is nice.

Oh aye, another +1 for WipeoutHD

Fat Princess is also rather fun, more or less capture the flag with lardy cake munching birds instead of pansy bits of cloth.

Also enjoyed the Scott Pilgrim game meself, beat 'em up in the same vein as Streets of Rage.

The latter three are PSN store games (Scott Pilgrim is multi platform but meh).

Demon's Souls (if you have time to dedicate to it)

A decent enough for:

Ratchet and Clank: A crack in time
Killzone 2
Resistance 2

And a sort-of meh for:

GT5
LBP
Motorstorm (any)

Not played MGS4, KZ3 or LBP2 yet

mgs4 is a must along wiht the games already mentioned, kx2/3 (get move for 3) wipeout, stardust,flower,vanquish,uncharted 1/2, heavy rain, demon souls, gow3. id prolly also add heavenly sword not a pefect game but still preety good.

Only additional games I would suggest are inFamous (brilliant GTA-with-superpowers type game, sequel is due out soon too), and Resistance 2, which is great in a "shoot the shit out of everything that moves" way.

yaka heavenly sword was awful from a gaming point of view, very pretty though. Storyline was a bit average too. It's also only about 4-6 hours of button bashing.

i thought that at first, but pld it again finishing it receently and i didnt think it was that bad.

as for infamous it is a stunning game gets a bit harder later on but its a worthy one cant belive i forgot to mention it
