My mate has just bought a hot tub (for his swinger parties probably) and he has a Sony Vaio all in one pc thing. He wants to get the tv off the pc onto the side of the wall of his house so he can watch tv in the hot tub, is this possible, is it a projector thing or is there another cheaper way to do this?

Cheers.

A projector probably.. with a big white screen painted on his house. I don't know much about it but there are projector owners in these parts. Neighbours will love him. :)

A projector is probably the best way, unless he has access to the giant OLED skyroof?

I think the projector is the cheaper way to do it, because although there are outdoor TVs they tend to be a bit on the pricey side. And god knows how you would make them secure.

Not sure how good the projector would be in daylight, hopefully his parties are mostly at night.

Thanks lads.

Yes RB his main concern is the sun fucking up whatever he chooses. He likes watching footy in his tub and at present is watching it on his Vaio through the kitchen window.

He also raised the question of securing a tv outside and I suggested making a cabinet for it. He left today with his head full of ideas and dreams so we shall see what he decides on.

If he goes for a projector and is concerned about viewing in daylight, make sure he goes for a grey screen. It doesn't make it perfect but it's a fuck load better than a white screen in a bright environment.

But could he simply paint his wall grey instead? I think he was thinking he doesn't need a screen and just wanted it on the side of his house....or something.

Yeah I expect that'd work. Basically when I demoed my projector the guys at the shop had a plain screen that was half white half grey. When he flicked on the lights the difference was astounding, the white half was all washed out and you couldn't see anything, the grey remained very solid. I think it is just a colour thing not any special material.
