Dunno what the hour is as I have just got out of bed, with all these words streaming round my head, and just felt a need to write them down
All I wanna say is since starting DAoC a year ago I thought it was just a silly silly game u know something to have a good laugh at, and just mess about, but the more I played and more I met new people the more I realised that I was actually making friends, not friends in a physical sense but more friends in a mental sense, from all the guilds I was in and from all the people I grouped with I just want to say a big thankyou for making this community a generally nice place for me, and for all the people who have really made this game what it is in Europe today
Because even though this person flames this person and he has a go at him, there is a immense mutual respect amongst the realms and the people in them, and I can't believe that one person actually hates another, I won't believe it and no matter how much childish behaviour that happens everyone really does have a bond which they can only really share with another person who has experienced DAoC
I think amongst all the shit these important things are forgotten or missed and sometimes we need to take a step back and think of those people we Private Message straight away as soon as we get on and realise they are actually influential important people to us, friends as it were, our guild which isn't really a guild but more of a family, to our guildleaders who are more Parents and guides than leaders and to our realm which isn't some big separate entity its just one large community of people playing towards a mutual goal.
And finally to the realisation that even though Hibernia/Albion and Midgard look different and act differently, when we face eachother on the battle and look down at the person we thought there is actually a little voice inside us saying "Damn good fight my friend, you held your own and I respect you for that!"
I dunno where this came from whether it was because of the Oggy thing or maybe it is because so much aggression is flying around the forums, seeming more aggressive than joking
But all I know is that it speaks volumes to me and I hope it speaks volumes to other people out there
