Jerioth is a Warden and has therefore a silly dmgoutput and I think none of them are L50 yet. about 45+

anyway, a Friar hits very hard in melee. thier dmg makes up for them being a crossdresser

edit: You need some highdmg output to kill a friar, so a friar owning 2 persons with 1h weapons isn't surprising. tho I'm, wondering what Jer did with his bubble. pfft, maybe I should all screens next time. Jozen used spear.

If patch 1.51 was up you would have gotten owned..
As it seems now from the log you've gotten lucky and caught them without bubble (warden on speed spell, happens a lot in our frontier), that or you penetrated bubble every single time which I doubt is possible ..
After 1.51 bubble is instacast so good luck then..

Nice anyway btw but friar atm is one of the few melee classes I can't beat in a duel and I think everybody knows they kick ass :)

jerioth =lv50 warden, looking at screenies its obvious that blubble wasnt up.

jozen=lv~48cshero, kinda unlucky rofl (u evaded like 200 of hes hits)

anyway, a Friar hits very hard in melee. thier dmg makes up for them being a crossdresser

Gahldir, friars wear leather and have self abs buff, so finally they got 27% abs like chain/scale wearers. Also they hit with 2h staffs, BIG dmg output and fast due to their instahaste.

Friars are one of my favourite classes ^^ started 1 in the last beta week, but my champ owned cron with 60%hps left in the duels @ gorre :p (no RAs used...)

As far as I'm aware these were both duels i.e. 1v1 fights with beckoning.

61 dmg on con blue ? I do twice than that on orange cons with my weap drawn, no styles...train some aug str ?

Firstly, its correct that bubble was not up, Thanatlos is right about about wardens running around with speed on, when we are searching for someone, theres no point running around at snail speed.

Secondly i'm only lvl 47 anyway.....

and on a side note this wasnt a 1 on 1 duel, on one screenie you can see that me and jozen both attack him, and if it was a 1 on 1 duel I would definately have had bubble up and running :p

Yay me!

I know it was just luck as most things are in this game but it still felt pretty damn good. If I hadn't evaded that last attack I would have most likely been killed as I was on around 5% health at the end.

yep thats why every friar on us server loves it mainly due to parry being 100% dex modified, evade is dex + qui and friars lack qui. Fighting orange con advisor he might hit me 3 times in a fight i'll evade 4-5 times and parry 4-5 times (parry is only specced at 10+2 and then master of parry 2) and i may even parry more but wouldnt know due to game checking evade/block/parry/miss in that order so each time i evade is also a possible parry i also tested master of pain 3 on goore wasnt overly impressed as a crit ranges from 0 - 100% of the hit value usually nearer 20% personally id rather not be hit as much, not like i lack in dmg dealing :)

i got parry 28+12, not one hell of alot in dex, but still, and chance of parry is halved if you are using styles and halved again if you are attacked with styles. Oh and u parry a whole lot more in PVE than in RVR mate :)

Parry sucks in RVR. As simple as that. I dont think I have ever parried a yellow con.

Leather ain't as good as Chain... even with 10% absorb buffs.

Absorb buffs just mean you have a 10% chance of an attack 'missing' (being completely absorbed by armour)

or so I read...

it doesn't improve your AF which is what affects the damage...
doesn't make much sense I know ... but it's AF that matters folks :) base absorb is multiplied onto it... don't think the absorb spells are...

That said friars get a nice personal AF shield :)

Friar with self buffs on = lots of damage... not too much defence.

Friar without self buffs = moo moo :)

Champs > friar (coz of their debuffs, make the friar hit very slow and he loooses like 300hps)

But then champs own most classes :p

GW Cronn go chopp em :D

I think friars should get an polearm aswell so they can kill champs to ;)

quite like mastery of pain, knocked up some orange cons for well over 300 on crits in barrows. (slow staff)

i find counter evade is JUST AWESOME

now i CE then FB or HS as back up. Backup styles have totally transformed my friar's solo ability.

at 44 doing orange cons for 30mill xp pretty much with no downtime.

i got dodger 2 atm and i want 3 its freakin uber :D

p.s. remeber to open the fight with a defender's fury, makes life soooooo much easier

and gratz Cronn you guys show em that we aint some gimpy class :D
