Just get that crafted one. Use self-haste and only attack Hib's and Mid's who are already being attacked by your groupmate's or realmmate's, especially those bubble-popping merc's.

He didn't miss any apostraphes... :p
Just everything else.

With the top qui buff, high amounts of qui from your items, and the haste buff up, you'd probably be surprised as hell by how fast a 5.0 staff swings.

http://www.nisrv.com/DaoC/WS_Calc.shtml

5.5 speed staff, 220 qui (60+10 briton, 75items, 75 top buff), 38%haste shout-buff, effective swing speed... 2.31seconds per swing.
:great:

Not that a 2.3sec swingspeed will get you past BT every time... but you'll swing almost a full second faster than my minstrel using a sabre and a qui-free SC suit.

Today your mission will be to go to the Brainslug nebula.
There you will sit around not moving fast and wearing no protective headgear.

They're cracking open their penguins over there, and don't you think something should be done?

Their - possessive article. That which belongs to "them".

They're - contractive use of apostrophe. Means "They are".

There - Advjective describing a location or relating to a place.

Where - Questioning adjective relating to place or location.

Were - Second person singular and plural and first and third person plural past indicative of be. (Had to steal this from dictionary.com because my explanation was confusing even for me.)

Probably best to stick to spelling things wrong if you really do not know. :(

Depends on the level of the friar and the level of the buffs and the starting stats of the friar plus his equipment.

Tell me, do you actually HAVE a lvl 50 or close to 50 friar that you simply don't understand or are you just thinking about a friar because you read somewhere that they are uber?

In any case, go browse www.drunkenfriar.com

Sheesh...what am I today? King Helpful?

I covered absolutely anything you had any right to expect to be told, dammit ;) hehe

Briton starts with 60qui and gets 0 from levelling as a friar. At 50, you can have a maximum of 75qui from your items altogether. The top (45spec enhance) dex+qui buff will give you 75 to each, so that's so far 60+75+75.
This gives the figure of 210 that I used in the weap-speed calculator example in my first reply. You might also add 10 qui from creation points, and another 12qui from the Augmented Quickness level2 realm ability, which is a pre-requisite for the evade-boosting dodger skill.

i got a lvl 45 friar and heading to 50 very fast... so i just wanted to ask about that instead if i speced in Mastery of Arms, but tho, then i can come up and hit for 1.5 spd :)

but lots pts to waste tbh

Pre-req of aug str is wasted points and lots of em. It's a piece of crap and it doesn't currently stack with friar/savage/warden haste shouts. So don't even consider it.

ofc they stack... its like more quick... concider it that way...

i know one on a US server that hits 1.5 with a 5.5 spd staff but hes like gimped in RA's, only very high dmg very fast... allmost like a zerker or so :)

but if i can hit for 2.0 speed with haste then its fine for me i guess

My bad, I was thinking of Hail of blows. Although the pre-req for that is augDEX rather than str, and thus not wasted, but... well, hey. Mastery of arms is still 1+3+6 100% wasted points, and then a big investment for very, very little return in terms of the actual attack speed increase.
Worry about getting ignore pain, purge, some toughness/AoM, dodger, mastery of pain, serenity/MCL perhaps, and so forth before you think about getting 6% haste (worse than the lowest theurg baseline haste in terms of improvement...?) for 14 RA points.

Thanks, I think I covered that.
Anyhow, 3secs isn't that reliable. Might land 3 hits in 5 against a warden's group...

you'll need a faster staff too cus when u meet the big boys (NP,LA,VGN etc) you aint going to hit shit with a 5.5.

I've got the dragon staff for such encounters, but I've heard the bubble breaker from SI is a good fast stave too.
