^^ Agrees with nath, I cancelled our cable TV and upgraded to a 2Mbit connection, much better. Only thing I miss is MTV2 really.

Instead of the 40 or so freeview channels, with shite to trawl through - with Sky you can trawl through 300 odd channels of shite.

However, my girlfriend has the full Sky package and there is some great sport on at times (i like the golf), some great music channels and men and motors but as Nath said it's a hell of a lot of money.

If sky did a "pick n mix for a low monthly cost" package, that would suit me - just the music channels and the sports channels please! (maybe they already do this...., didn't when i last checked).

So is terrestrial tv. One or two good shows a week if you're lucky and generally those good series only last for about 8 episodes.

At least on Sky I get my sport, some decent music and the odd old movie that I didn't want to buy on dvd. Oh and Paramount comedy.

Altho buying a freeview box just to watch one tv program you cant get atm is like buying a new pc with a uber gfx card just so you can play Doom3.

Jobs are over rated, and getting sky/ntl would be a stupid idea, why pay a subscription when I only want 1 channel The rest is bollocks imo

It does work. We bought a Sony Freeview box and were told by the store staff that we were in an "iffy" area but it would maybe work. Decided to take the risk, it didn't, called them and they were happy to give a refund. And that was from Dixons. Bunch of arses normally.
