Yo.

I've got postfix running on a VM and want to punt a small number of mails out from myserver@mydomain.net to receipient@wherever.com - then receive mails back to myserver@mydomain.net.

I have a need for a relay server that won't be horribly blacklisted or have forwarded mails dumped direct to junk on the recipient's mailbox.

Any ideas? I cursory google has given me turbosmtp, easysmtp and some people use gmail. Anyone use such services? Anyone got any better ideas?

:)

I use my gmail for that purpose mainly. I can also use my 1&1 smtp but I think I paid extra for that on my domain name.

My mate owns the domain through godaddy - but it looks like you have to purchase an email address for use with your domain at what I think is a pretty extortionate price (bout 4 quid a month/ 36/year - considering my domains through different providers all come with a number of free email addys).

Forwarding mail that comes in is free - but not relaying on.

The annoying thing is that, yep, I could use gmail but I'll want to send mails from that domain...

Ta m8, using gmail to route now. Not sending much, just notifications from a vm I'm running.
