Seems like they are finally admitting that all they have done since SI is fecking up the game, trying to kill it and get ppl to leave.

I have 1 ml 10 have tried to get others some ml's but it's just so boring and takes hours on end. Without ml's certain chars are pretty gimped, atleast that seem's to be negated now.

No idea what kinda impact this will have tho.

Yes, the sole purpose of the company was to make as few money possible.
and you can get ml10 pretty easy and fast. Even when TOA was few weeks out it was not really that hard.

Actually , the ml's were great fun in the start, I made so many friends while doing stepts, helping guildies, leading lots of ml's.. was really great tbh.

Now it means jackshit getting ml10, so they might as well give it for free as they will do now.

It does cheapen it all - but I think it is a move in the right direction.

DAOC is really about RvR, the PvE is really quite tiresome, and doing MLs repeatedly over and over on different toons just isn't fun.
I've probably done ML1-10 about 5 or 6 times (only 1 or 2 ML rushes) and one of them finished off a relationship I was having :>

People just don't have the time to do it for every toon.

I almost wish I could clone my own toons to try different specs/races/genders but apart from on test servers - it will never happen :/

Don't regret the time on ml's youve spent, but thank god theyve finally done this.

It shows a recognition of what the core strengths of DAOC are, and where they are to be found - in the RvR endgame. ToA was misguided, people didnt want more PvE, but it forced people into it because of the imbalance between ToA templated and ML'd characters and those who werent. Think we all had quite a bit of fun on it though - and I still enjoy helping out people on guild arti raids.

So they should be applauded for this brave move - hard to let go of all that work development team put into those ML's - but ultimately it is absolutely the right decision. I hated ML's most of all.

wait for 1.89 patch theres a dev meeting video knocking about and you can pay premuim rates for everything you just asked m8(well on usa servers)

theres still quite a few players that are pve only there 3 or 4 albs guilds that are pve guilds(and i dont mean pve as in ac rr before any one starts)

A very small minority i would of thought. Additionally, so called pve guilds generally contain many people who also enjoy getting out and rvr'in from time to time.

In anycase, i'm sure those people can still go through ToA if they like as an alternative means to getting the ml's (erm for whatever they would want them for).

Looks like a win win situation to me.

if all the people on the classic servers could just buy the ml`s and artes with the accumulated BP, would they be asking party to be clustered with normal servers ?


intresting question really.

would the people on the classic english server like more to be clustered with a german server as is now or would they prefer to be clustered with excall/pryd and just buy their ml`s and artes ?

This is great news. Having to to do TOA kind of kept me out of RvR and made me move to Classic. Now I can finally be Ml'ed with my Prydwen ranger and Mentalist. good decision Mythic

personally...not a chance. Its not just the time sink to get ML10 (something i never managed) but the stupid artis and iwin buttons on timers that make the combat a case of who has what up rather than skill playing your class.

Classic combat is much purer, class balance is closer, casters arnt stupidly OP with passive pierce spell damage and cast speed all maxed.

So in short i wouldnt hold your breath for a band aid to dyvet population (but i expect a few may return for these changes).

A good patch just years too late.

i can see what is coming next from mythic - spend x amount of bp's to get an instant lvl 50 char!!!!

All these changes dumb down the game even more - it will make everyone equal

One of the best changes mythic as thought of so far imho. Have 10 lvl 50 chars and most of them still need mls and having Uni+work i just cba to do ml1-10 X10 :m00:

After the good implementation of Lab this one will rox go go mythic :p

well, lets face it.
the whole bounty points trick wont help the newb toons or the pve fans, but only the old rvr veterans that left the game before / because of toa and have plenty of bps left.

f.e. my rr8+ ranger has over 100k bps but my rr6 druid has about 20-25k bps and that's the amount needed for ml10. it's not like you powerlevel to 50 then buy the ml's cause you simply dont have the damn bps.

so, you dont have the rr's --> you dont have the bps --> you do ml's and arties and scrolls the old way --> nothing changed

I think ToA is the only reason DAOC is still going. Can you really imagine how stagnant RvR would have become after years of the same old shit. All the new gear abilities and stuff really shuck things up.

It was a grind yes and it did push a few people away from the game. But I think it saved the game in the long run.

Its a bit late in the games lifespan to be worrying about bringing new people in to the game. When WHO is released DAOC will be dead within the year.
