as a true blooded Yorkshire girl I'm gutted. Had the pleasure of talking to him once and he was a true gent, whatever he might have claimed otherwise.

He was interviewed in my old newspaper just a few months ago and to think he's now gone in such a short time is so sad.

As people have said on the BBC website, why on earth didn't this great sportsman receive a knighthood?
