Freaked out

Right this has done me head in, was playing CS this morning, when an obvious cheat by the name of chronox joined, i left it 4 about 20 mins then went and got admin, when hed left/been kicked i went back onto irc to thank him(the admin), and i had 2 private messages left 4 me by this chronox guy and sum1 else which said hi John *******(surname), now am i rite 2 be freaked out or is this just an old irc trick 2 shit people up?

No he was idling in the channel, saw you complain about him. He then perfomred a whois on you and as you had your full name in your details he messaged u saying "hi john".

Cheers dolly m8,i feel a bit of a tit now, but honestly at the time i went fooking dizzy and me stomach went over, its a different matter if u r in the same room as these people, its just the feeling of helplesness but thanks alot 4 that dolly for making me feel less of a tit.Ive found a funny dealing with cheaters movie, i will post it when ive finished installing XP.

hmmm does the whois get the ID info from IRC or from Windows ??

if you enter the info a la 'user' full name' etc etc. same thing goes with browsers, icq et al

Ermm, its got nothing to do with having a firewall installed. The cheater got his name from irc whois info.

Anyway Tremor, we did try and explain all this to you on iRc but you panicked and legged it.

it wasnt that ch3tan m8, i started work at 11am and i had to drive 4 miles to get there, i think it was 10.50am or there-abouts when this happened,thanks 4 settling my nerves yesterday anyway m8.
