Fowler has been crap the day he left Liverpool.

Not his fault. How do you get your game face on when the club you idolise and the only club you want to play for deems you surplus to requirements? Such a shame because at the time, him and owen were a formidable striking partnership. Up there with Bright and Wright, SAS and Yorke and Cole

Fowler : 3 goals this season , all penalties vs Shef Utd and 2 of them cheating dives by the scouse scum known as Gerrard.A great return on £2 million wages a year...

Not a chance, Zola was world class, Fowler did nothing at international level and wasn't even wanted by a club that couldn't maintain a decent challenge for the league. The truth is that the fella pissed his career away by drinking and clubbing on a regular basis before matches, the promise he showed in his first 2 years at Liverpool was washed away by drugs and alcohol. Zola on the other hand was the consumate professional and will go down as one of the greatest foreign talents to ever grace English football.

In terms of goals, which imo is the most logical thing to judge strikers on: Fowler scored 128 goals at 0.50 goals a game (first spell at Liverpool). Zola scored 59 goals at 0.26 a game. http://stats.premierleague.com/ . Maybe Zola was more creative, but creativity is hard to quantify.

Fishface was never loved by the England regimes because like you say, ultimately he is a volatile chav. So therefore he never really got a chance on the international stage. Furthermore perhaps the most notable thing Zola did internationally was miss a pentaly against the Germans in Euro 96?
