It's just a pre-emptive whine thread (regarding 1.88, which isn't even out yet) - about some changes mentioned for archery in that Mythic-meeting video. Most of it is speculatory whining about things they have no details on. It's a funny read for a slow friday. :)

It's almost too ironic for words.

Mainly they are referring to post-CD change rangers.

But you have a good point, rangers have been too powerful in melee for a long time. An archer being able to outmelee an assassin is just wrong.

I am happy with any changes incoming as long as they remove stealth from archers :p.

If not I might end up rolling one too a la FOTM.

But you have a good point, rangers have been too powerful in melee for a long time. An archer being able to outmelee an assassin is just wrong.

i don't think its the base class that makes rangers so op in melee. its the combination of all abilities that makes them stronger then assassins in a full dump

scout vs ranger is a really even fight, but the thing that gives rangers and edge is the fact all of them have malice and as soon as it procs the scout is fucked. both offence and defence get such a big penalty.

this can be seen as a whine btw, as soon as malice procs (and it will) its just game over for a scout. :mad: glad its getting nerfed!

Don't underestimate the effect of the upcoming shield changes.
The SM TL Vilna did some tests that showed a heavy tank can have almost 100% defense against a DW'er on the rogue WS table.

I'm still only in CV on classic US
But the only stealther that gives me trouble is the scout
The full bow, slam and run scouts are the same as ever
But the hybrid scouts with a few levels of MoB are near impossible to take down.
Especially those that run the snegli shield with 20% heal reverse proc
It's like fighting a friar :)

do these bonuses work for thid.. my mauler literally walked through any shields user.. only thing i lost to was a friar..

the OP shield comes with very high shield spec, very high dex and some mob levels, at thid shield shouldn't go close to lvl 50 shield user's block rate.

with pd on scout an using lgm weps on the ranger gives you the edge imo since pretty much all the fotm rangers are blade spec :D

believe me it needed it
the proc rate was OTT
and having a 20% heal reverse proc go off on you 5 times in a row like it did against me last week is just silly

to start with I thought someone was healing the scout :eek6:

A fast fix, not like "shield user vs Dw'ers" fix which took almost 5 years :p

when DW gets an anytime 9 sec stun
when evading/parrying sets off reactionary procs like blocking does
when DW'ers can get arrow immunity
when DW'ers can guard groupmates or engage

then you can talk about a fix

the DW/Shield changes went too far
took me 10 minutes to kill a healer in melee that had an afk blockbot stuck to it on my ranger a week ago

that's not in the least bit balanced

shield has retained all the utility it always had
DW'ers gained nothing in return

Shield changes will not become scouts op'ed, only will take u more time to kill them.

I think i can talk, after pass some years blocking a shit (except arrows) with 42+11+rr, 413dex, MoB3-4 vs rr1-rr11 dw'ers.
