Answering several questions....

html code in these forums isnt going to happen, its way too powerful and turns a forum system into a random website selector. the vB code is there for a reason, its because html in forums is a disaster waiting to happen.

I like the little smiley with the placard. My mind reels with ideas for a series of placards with "helpful" messages on them.

Things like:

STFU
Yes
No
RTFM


Actually, 2 of those are a little aggressive, and perhaps not such a good idea. But the placard has possibilities as a small range of add-on smilies.

And yes, in hind-sight, I agree we shouldnt be thinking about adding forums so casually, especially as we already have so many unused forums here. Logic and structure is all well and good, but usability should be a prime consideration aswell.

With regards to reclaiming Membership usernames that are no longer used by the person who set them up, we've got some more changes coming up in the future that will help us gauge accurately whether an account is unused or not. Right now we have real trouble ascertaining if an account is active, so we cant help with this, yet.
