its about a arctic research plane, stationed on a base camp in the middle of a circle of observation sites, radius 50km. the idea of the coursework was to calculate how long it took the plane to get to each base camp, given that there was a strong wind blowing east.

hence plane is speed of plane, wind is speed of wind, and B is the bearing. R is resultant speed, D is the distance to each observation site when the basecamp is moved cX Km horizontally.
