Foreign players

Just wondering what's your vision on having so many foreign players on a team. I mean, when less foreigners play on a team, or there is a maximum, there would be more teams equal towards eachother. dont you think?

I mean, no teams like real madrid or chelsea, who have 5093853 xazzillion dollahs to pay for players

Foreign players as outside EU?

Being a R.M fan myself i like to have in my team the best players posible, but aso i want to see in the team young talents who grown up in the juvenile sections (Casillas & Raul or Messi & Bojan e.g) and feel the colours.

maybe you should realise that most (not all) of the UK football clubs are rich.

I personally think that football would be a lot more intresting (not only uk, there is actually football outside of the uk) if more countries then italy,spain and england had proper football clubs that can compete with the higher clubs ie chelsea / barcalona / real / arsenal / ac milan...

And perhaps clubs actually have to setup a decent team instead of buying a whole new team of big ass superstars.

You are aware that most of the arsenal team was put together on a small budget? I think the last 5 years we have made money on transfers. Its not all about money its about good scouts and turning players into stars.

A team put together over more than 5 years not bad money at all and you dont need to be rich either.

they cant really implement the idea of restricting number of foreign players as its against EU law, they could however restrict number of non-eu players and perhaps force all premier league match-day teams (ie the team + subs) to have at least one or two under 21's on the team for a start

what about a salary/transfer money cap?

if u have big club w responible managers, u can build a team, which the fans can relate to.
u dont need to have all native players playin in there.
u just need to have the players u need to make a winnin team or at least fight all matches n players have long contructs
if u start thinkin that foreigh players r just mercenaries or they r good investment, then fans prolly get upset.
armies of cheap players can cause headache to fans when they see them every now n then.
overrated native players who get paid alot n play all the time in the startin 11 but they dont offer nothing n lose badly, may infuriate fans.
managers have to balance between these things

I'm not much of a sports-guy, but I think there should be a limit, because else it's simply not a real sport anymore.

Small local clubs play with the guys who live there, but once they become bigger, they have to buy players outside…why? After all we're talking about real people and not some engines you throw away if they suck a bit. I'm not racist or xenopobic, but I think the fun in liking a club is the fact that those are YOUR guys and gals playing there =)

I think there should be a majority of local players on a football team, by that I dont mean foriegners, but anyone who doesnt live/work/whatever locally.

I know this would be hard to enforce, and probably for the sake of the money involved at premier league level they'd just move the players about anyway, but its always something I've thought. I watch my village team playing football on a weekend and I know most of the blokes on the team, the goalie was in the same class as me at school, once worked with the midfielder, drink at the same pub as 3-4 of the others, and generally know and get on quite a few of the other players.

Its great because when they play you genuinely want them to do well and do the village proud, in the same way as a normal supporter I guess but there is a solid link between you and the team.

Its like it actually means something rather than saying "oh i live in such and such town, only one of the players has ever lived here but i still want them to win!". I know its not as black and white as that, but you can see the point I'm trying to make.

I know its an unrealistic and unfeasable thought and something that isnt about to happen, i just think its a shame is all.
