What's with this forced updating Msn messenger?

I've be happily using old versions for ever clicking the 'fuck off for another week message'

Today is different you can't even sign in without updating. Any way to get around this yet?

there comes a time when you just have to get irl friends, the ones you met in the teen chatrooms cant be there forever.

I like to have the choice, everytime I updated msn before I rolled immediatly back as the new versions were terrible. I like it plain and simple so stick to the previous versions using less ram without the new fangled eye candy shite. Who knows what spyware ms have put into this latest release.

I don't always need ms holding my hand to protect my pc. I use an independant firewall and virus scanner and im pretty sure most of this forum does the same.

This is more just a rant about being stubborn and actually prefering the cleaner version without all the bells and whistles.

1) Solo had it before you did, English.
2) Updating to latest version of MSN isn't that much of a bad idea. (Unless they've horribly fucked up, as they did with the alpha version of 8.0)
3) Boobs.

I prefer Miranda IM (google it, cba to make a link)... all i need in one small program... less resources and no forced updates. It got plenty of nifty plugins (that i dont use) and support for quite a few different messenger systems (ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, etc).

MSN and Live MSN is pretty much the same, accept Live works in coordination(sp) with Yahoo. So you can add "yousuck@yahoo.com" to your mail.
