1997/8 was the year for Trance imo :D Before the greedy fucking eye of the record companys turned thier eye to it, ravaged the scene with shit pop versions of songs..and left it hurting.

Do I sound bitter? I fucking well am, as far as I am concerned if downloading music hurts big labels..DO IT, DO IT TILL YOUR EARS BLEED!

Hardtrance Acperience, Hardfloor it all started there m8s. Got some bootleg tape with it on from camden market in 91' and not been the same since :)

for me, other landmark trance tracks include

the bells, jeff mills
little fluffy cloudz, the orb
access, dj mishjah
jam & spoon
resistance d
sven vath

the drugs were good, the raves were dodgy, but the music was spot on :p

Acperience = Acid
The Bells = Techno
Little Fluffy Clouds = Ambient
Access = dunno it, but since its by Misjah it's prolly tech-trance

So the bad news is you have your genres screwed up, the good news is they >>>>>>>> any trance tracks, cause trance is crap :twak:

Bring on the flames, trance is trash, and you know it :D

Trance has always been about money mate. And if i sound bitter it's cause I am too, seeing part of the house and techno scene spoiled by that poor excuse for a music genre.

Wigan pier still owns. Got burned down by some manchester gangsters (apparantly!!) last year but its back up and running now. Its still as shady as it always has been! Was looking through all my old tapes last night and came across loads of stu allen from club kinetic, dreamscape and helter skelter.

Lol you are obviously a young un' :)

When it came out, Acperience was NEVER classed as acid. sure it had a 303 in it, but the build up and crashing crescendo redefined a genre, for me this definded what trance was back in 91. How you can put such rigid genre structures on tracks so old is beyond me. Little Fluffy Clouds ambient ? erm....righty ho.

The tracks I have mentioned were genre defining tracks, you know there was a time before all these genres had a foot hold ? get there at the start, and you would have realised " shit this is different - what is it ?"

Boundries are blurred easily in dance music, there is no real right or wrong and lots of tracks cross over genres for the first time, in effect making them unique.

You really need to listen to access - the pinicle of what hardfloor started back in 91 ( along with higer state of consciousness, josh wink - but yer I would say that was more techo :p )

used to go the pier' 90-94 ?

still got an old tape of Stu Allen playing the todd terry remix of Can you Feel it by CLS for the first time. Never have i heard a DJ so happy about hearing a track :p

also : the academy : bolton, shellys : stoke, life : manchester, the state : liverpool, much later Voodoo, Liverpool

for one year in 1991, when all that was available was white doves - the rave masses rejoiced under the same illusion. never would it be as good, ever again, think they found the factory in france :( then the shite came in.
