The police made such a royal fuck up with hillsborough. if it wasnt for the 96 deaths and hundreds injured, you could say what the police did was laughable. But alas, its not a laughing matter.

Duckenfield should have been up on a manslaughter charge, instead of resigning from the police force.

What sort of dick head opens up a gate outside to let thousands in without shutting the access off to an already overcrowded section behind the sticks. Im sorry, but that is just common sense.

I remember watching the european cup final of the same year, AC Milan vs, mmm forget now, but there was a minutes silence for the hillsbourough disaster and half way through, the AC fans all started singing YNWA.

Ah.. Nice gesture tbh! Perhabs breaking the silence, but with that very song I think it's okay

Italy really does have the fans with the biggest passion when it comes to football. Few years back when a Juve fan was killed, all the clubs stood together and basically became one

Shame it was also the same with the corruption that was going on a couple of years back :(

Thanks Marc for that, I've not seen that song stop play before. Nice gesture!

RIP to the 96 people that died.

Same to the 39 at Heysel, 56 at Valley Parade, the 66 at Ibrox and especially the 22 that died in the Ivory Coast on a few weeks ago (and any others i neglected to mention). I find it odd how these rarely get a mention in comparison, especially those at Ivory Coast since it's still an on going thing.

Shame some Liverpool fan's havent learnt from the past. Numerous incidents since then where they still bring far too many fans than are allocated for, and try and enter with fake tickets or whatever other means. Athens was a disgrace considering their past.

Indeed, its only liverpool isnt it that bring far too many fans. Of course, there werent in excess of 2-3k Chelsea fans at last years champs league final without tickets were there. Oh no, its only liverpool fans. And herein lies the problem. Major sporting events will always attract thousands of fans without tickets and this is why the FA made a fuck up of epic proportions. Liverpool where by far the better supported team, so what do the muppets at the FA do? Allocate them the smaller end and give them less tickets than forrest. GG.

Too many people dont know anything about hillsborough and choose to believe what they hear from word of mouth and internet message boards. The blame lies with the FA and the Police. No one else.

No offence, but justice? are you serious?

If the fans would have never pushed in the first place, and been so eager to get in, despite opening the gate, none of this would have happened.

No need to blame the police, for something the fans did purely themselves.

RIP to all that passed.

Agree, but the police should have had better crowd controll when they opened the doors.

From what I can gather from eye-witness accounts, they were letting people without tickets in the end because there was such a bundle, so surely the fans and the ground staff have to take some responsibility.

RIP

The taylor report found that the ticketless fans did not cause the crush, it was the shocking state of the 24 turnstiles that had to ferry 24,000 fans through them that caused the crush.

I wish people would actually read what happened rather than making up their own minds on hearsay.

If you read Marc's first response properly then you will get an idea of the management of the police that day and how it was corrupt from High command, right down to the officers carrying out their duty on that day.

Justice? Yes Justice indeed for the 96. Why hide behind a 30 year rule regarding this matter. Why not give the families and everyone connected to them, the club and the city in what ever way they all want to know.

Let them see what should be known, instead of it being hidden in some secret vault. People on that day made mistakes, it cost lives. Everything should be laden bare for all to see. Marc was right, but that was only one fact of the day. Let the families have their justice so that they can rest and make judgement.

Justice for the 96.

They only opened 24 out of 60 turnstiles right? What was the reason behind that?

And I have read a lot about it, the taylor report isn't neccesarily 100% fact is it? There was a blog posted on the BBC website the other day by Steve Wilson who was there, and there are hundreds of comments from Liverpool fans who were there that would back up what I said.

No, there were 24 turnstiles in total. the 60 turnstiles were at the forrest end, which were more modern too. You want to suggest that the taylor report isnt 100% fact when it was the longest public enquiry in history? Im not doubting that there werent ticketless fans, but they were found not to be the cause of the crush

From Jutice Taylor..

He hit out at the police's " sluggish reaction and response when the crush occurred" and claimed that the total number of fans who entered the Leppings Lane terrace " did not exceed the capacity of the standing area".

So much for the thousands of ticketless fans theory.

This is a fantatic read, its long, but well worth reading

I've finally found YouTube - Liverpool Collective/KOP Choir - Fields Of Anfield Road by Liverpool Collective feat. The Kop Choir - Lyrics.

I caught this during the Hillsbrough service and it really moved me, beautiful song especially with the new added chorus:

Outside the Shankly Gates
I heard a Kopite calling
Shankly, they have taken you away
But you left a great eleven
Before you went to heaven
Now it's glory round the Fields of Anfield Road

--Chorus--
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Outside the Paisley Gates
I heard a Kopite calling
Paisley, they have taken you away
But you led the great eleven
Back in Rome in 77
And the Redmen they're still playing the same way

Chorus

Beside the Hillsborough flame
I heard a Kopite mourning
Why so many taken on that day?
Justice has never been done
But their memory will carry on
There'll be glory round the Fields of Anfield Road.

Chorus x2

The glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

He's been suspended for 14 days and awaiting further disciplinary action. He will leave the club I reckon. The club won't tolerate that.

Is that video it? Is that all that happened? Way to blow things out of proportion. The media make it sound like he was laughing his arse off whereas the video just shows him swaying for half a second to the worlds shittest song.

Thankfully, clueless morons like yourself are in the minority and normal people can indeed see that it was a moronic thing to do.

haha they really do

Why in the hell did you say respect in the first place when you made a foolish comment like this? This showed the measure of your true feelings and tbfh, you should have stayed out of the thread if this were to be your disrespectful contribution to it :twak:
