Ok seems to be getting done alot lately, and problems can arise if people go about it wrongly.
If you are planning to do it, first check Bergopes and have a buddy park there so that others who happen to come by and check know it's being done, rather then checking it and running off and doing the gorgon only for someone else to come by camp it properly and get screwed out of the encounter, or even worse, end up wasting items doing a Gorgon only to arrive and see the other group partaking in a bit of Cyclops killing.
