Hmm, United will do well if the new players settle in, if they don't it could unsettle the whole side and it is a real worry for me. Liverpool will face the same but maybe to a lesser extent now they got rid of that scumbag Bellamy. As for Chelsea, not a very happy camp anyway and by not selling the deadwood plus buying new players means there will be more discontent before long. Arsenal could be the dark horse, not many changes and a maturing side could suprise alot of people.

How do you accomodate all your stars in that 4-3-3 bud? Seriously, Essien/Cole/Lampard/Mikel/Ballack/Sidwell/Diarra/Makalele and only three places for them? That is eight players playing for three places, five will be sat on the benches or in the stands most weeks.

Oh and if you are playing with two advanced wingers then that only leaves once place for a striker out of Drogba/Sheva/Kalou/Pizzaro/Sahar. How do the hell do you keep the other four who can't play happy? Are you telling me that Lampard and Drogba are going to be be on the subs bench every other week? Ain't going to happen bud, he will play his best players in 80% of games and that means some world class players are going to get very few starts next season.


Simply put you have far too many people covering those postitions, to accomodate two wingers you need to drop a world class striker and a world class midfielder. It is a recipe for disaster my friend.

Our problem was having decent replacements when we had players missing against Milan, we now have quality back up in every position apart from right back. As i don't rate O'Shea/Brown there.

They are competent premiership players, John Oshea had the best goal per shot ratio in the premiership last season. Wes Brown seems to have got over his injuries and that is a good thing cause he can operate at Rb or as centre half and hold his own.

Firstly yes Jose can rotate the squad somewhat but regardless with 8 midfielders and 3 slots someone is only going to be getting the odd game. Honestly, who do you think that will be and which of the five strikers will start every game? There is no way he can drop Drogba with what he has done for Chelsea these last few years so where do the others fit in? Even as subs there is only so much you can do, I can't see Drogba been dropped very often and Sheva ain't going to be happy playing perma-sub.

Second, United's congested squad. I see Hargreaves and Scholes as the two main starters in central midfield, Carrick and Anderson will alternate but neither will be first choice unless they start turning up trees. Anderson is one for the future in many ways, the long term replacement for Scholes. On the left Nani will get about 40% of the starts with Giggs taking the rest, Richardson will be sold shortly as he is surplus to requirements. On the right Ronaldo will start 90% of games with Fletcher taking the other 10%, Park isn't in the equation right now being long term injured.

Up front it will either be Rooney alone with Anderson taking the fifth midfield spot, playing an a 4-5-1 defending that swtiches to a 4-3-3 when attacking.
Rossi, Ole and Saha are all second stringers who will get games where we play 4-4-2 against sides with weak defences. Smudger will be sold on shortly as there has been quite a bit of interest shown in him during the last week.

You are living in a fantasy. Silvestre has always played his best football as left back, he delivers a cracking diagonal ball with his left peg as well. In central defence he is totally reliant on the other centre half being good in the air and quick. This has been shown with both Stam and Ferdinand, they made him look good but when he has had to play alongside Neville or Wes Brown and take responsibilty for the high balls he has been badly shown up. John O'Shea is a very solid player with a good work ethic, he isn't outstanding anywhere on the park but is a great utlity player to have as back up. Wes Brown has everything it takes to be a great player but he has some very serious lapses of concentration, I put that down to being a second choice defender for so long and never getting a run of 30-40 games to really establish himself.

I can see Chelsea playing 4-4-2 moreso than 4-3-3 for the reasons you've mentioned above though, but its good to see Jose's said that noones place is now guranteed in the first 11.
