While i think he will be a good player some things to think about.

Arsenal where linked with him because he said he wanted to play for us.
Arsenal were linked at 6mil you paid nearly double that.
Arsenal never placed a bid for him it was all paper talk
Wenger sid he was not interested as he is too similar to Robin Van Persie.

I would like to have signed him but when you have Chel$ki Man U and the Red Chel$ki offering double for players to try sign them what do you expect. And liverpool fans i would be worried about buying a player who spent most of the summer saying how much he Loves Arsenal and wants to play there.

Still think Liverpool will come up short in the premiership.

Utd and Chelsea to slog it out for the title, with Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs fighting for 3rd.

what about the 26million signing of Torres? I tell you now he wont hit double figures in the premiership. He might score a few cup goals in the early rounds when Liverpool play shite like Cambridge but that will be it.

I'll agree with you there.

But Babel and Benayoun are typical Liverpool signings. Trying to challenge for the premiership by signing fringe players.

Has Torres even played CL football before?

You mean like they showed us in the Champions league final? :)

Liverpool have spent 45 million on a half decent striker, a midfielder who i havent the slightest clue where he fits in, and a winger/striker that is better than Kewell, but doesnt say much nor justify the price tag.

Chelsea have spent 13 million on a top class winger, two centre backs, a striker and a midfielder. Not all world class, but we have plenty of that already so this is adequate cover.

Man Utd have spent £50m on a very strong midfielder, as well a promising winger/midfielder, with Tevez to follow (perhaps :p)

I just can't see you giving either side a problem.

Thats a load of horseshit to be honest!

Chelsea won fuck all for years and years, yet they still had a massive fanbase.

Liverpool/Man U are the real glory supporters, just look how many Red Shite/Scumchester fans live in places like London and Ireland. Calling Vlad a glory supporter is basically the same as calling all Newcastle glory supporters

Chelsea have indeed had a big fan base all the time but recently it's increased a lot tbh.

Oh and i never meant Vlad was a glory supporter - before he hounds my arse! :D

Ohhh and what is this obsession w/ if you haven't seen them play, you don't support them. I'll let you pay for my ticket for a United game then shall I? :D

Arsenal have bought some decent players in the off season as well. Just because their names arent lit up in lights with 10,000,000 pound price tags no-one comments.

Paying 13mill for someone as young as Babel is a risk, as is the money that Man Utd have shelled out for Nani and Anderson. The English climate, the media spotlight, the physical side of the English game are all things that even experienced foreign players struggle to come to terms with (Veron, young Cruyff, Forlan, Morientes etc).

Looking at current squads and my guess of how the new signings will slot in I still the top 4 will be

1. Man Utd
2. Chelsea
3. Arsenal
4. Liverpool

Much as it pains me to say it, as I prefer the style of football Arsenal play, and I'd love the Toon Army to get some glory for once.

Come on the TOOOOON

Finally, the Toon have a manager worthy of that great club!

Shame he wasnt around when Sheaer was about, Alladyce and Shearer would really have kicked those layabouts into touch.

However, I see them finishing just outside the UEFA places
