From Arsenal.com I have to say if this is the only new striker im worried we have enough potential strikers we need a superstar.

Eduardo da Silva has already made his mark at Emirates Stadium.

The Croatian striker, who is set to join Arsenal after the Club agreed terms for his transfer with Dinamo Zagreb, scored the first competitive goal at the Gunners' new home last August.

Da Silva fired Dinamo ahead 12 minutes into the second leg of a Champions League Third Qualifying Round tie at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal fought back to win 2-1 on the night and go through 5-1 on aggregate after a comfortable win in Croatia.

Hmm interesting...

Spurs pay 16m for Bent proven goalscorer (for a shit team like Charlton) in the EPL.

Arsenal pay 16m for striker who as yet to prove himself.

Yeah looks to be everywhere the Croation manager says he can not disclose the fee but it is the biggest in the league.

Torres for 27mil dose not seem to bad right now :)

Still if he scores the goals to win you the league or CL, then 16m will be well worth spent :)

Been listening to TalkSport who normally are pretty damn good with information. They have been informed that the price is about 11million Euros (Just under £8million) and not the 24million Euro's that was being reported.

This guy actually may be what Arsenal needs. He isnt about being flash, he a pure "box fox" or "Goal Poacher". Arsenal already have all the play up to the box and couldnt finish it, this guy could actually make the difference for them. He has pace to go with his decent finishing, what he lacks is strength, and has that is a big aspect of the English game then he may struggle in his first season, but it be interesting to watch.

Any other manager in the league signing a player like this I might be worried. However Arsene Wenger has proven again and again how good he (and his scouts obviously) are at picking out the "unknowns".

I still remember everyone criticising him for signing a winger from Juventus who had struggled for a season or two. Young fellow named Thierry Henry......

He looks like a good buy.

27 million for Torres is criminal. I bet he doesnt score 15 goals in all competitions next season

I just realised i posted on a DAOC section, so i've edited this to say: ARGHHGHG, i'm going for a wash. Thats the last time i click a recently posted link on the front page!

PS. i would have posted: "Having watched all the goals in that clip, he looks like a good box predator, but the defending (and keeping at times) is fkin awful. Most of the goals the defence arent anywhere near him. Not saying that he'll be shit, as i say he looks sharp, but the premiership will certainly be nowhere near as easy to score goals like that. Its a gamble basically, but then who'd bet against wenger with his record on signings heh."
But i cant find a football section so it'll have to go here.
