I used to play an awful lot but gave it up for a while as I had alot of other stuff going on, before I deleted I had won 7 back to back league titles, 5 FA cups and 3 Champions Leagues with United over the course of 9 seasons. I setup my scouting system perfectly from day 1 and bought 8 or 9 very young talented kids who turned into worderkids very quickly. That is the secret of making money in FM08 and winning silverware longterm, getting the scouting setup finely tuned right at the start.

I have just re-installed and started a new game as I want to use the updated database but I am very tempted to start a World Super League game as well. Looking at the default top 20 teams it will be a real challenge to win which is what I need after 17 real life years of playing this game.

Oh and also managed to get Droyslden into the Premier League with FM07 but I did a tiny little cheat at the begining by using a scouting program to grab a handful of talented 16 years olds for free. That was the base I needed to start moving up the leagues as it is nearly impossible to do with such a small team and zero money otherwise.

First of all you need great scouts, no matter the cost. You want a minimum of 18 in judging player potential and ability. Get rid of anyone who hasn't got that as they will not spot the best youngesters. Then you need to send your scouts out on long term searches looking for players under the age of 20. That will mean the scouting engine watches alot of under 18 games and reserve football. You want to be assigning them to individual countries and not regions as the bigger the search the more chance of you have of missing a good player. I always assign one to England, one to France, one to Spain, then one for Central Europe and one for South America. After the searches come back I start hitting Eastern Europe, Africa and Southern Europe. That generally nets me 2 or 3 real prospects that are going dirt cheap, especially under 18's who you can often get for free.

It is a good challenge as there are no easy games, all the sides have a good pool of top talent and strong squads so every game feels like a battle. I love the normal setup of course but if I want to play as United it doesn't offer enough of a challenge because it very rarely delivers shock results against teams in the lower half of the league. In the World Super League you can quite easily lose 4-0 to the bottom placed side if you have a star player out injured and have no cover, well that is what I have read about it anyway.

Staff seach below player search. Use the 'customise filter' button to look for 20 in judging player potential and ability. If you can't find 20 then drop to 19 and then 18. Should get some good young scouts on very low wages at 18.

Untick "all" on his training programme and assign him to just ball control. There you go, 7 stars in ball control. He gets team talks spot on too. Is great at working with youngsters so he knows which senior player is best to tutor your kids and I always use him when I want a report card on someone.

How do i do that? What menu is it?

ok

Manager > Man Utd (or in your case "liverpool") > Training - Senior > Coaches.

Then highlight your coach and in the top right, a box will appear that will have all the training catergorys. Untick "all", and just tick the training catergory you want and it will give you a rating of stars.

To get 7 stars in each categorys, your coaches need particular attributes. Google it to find out what attributes each type of coaching needs

I always use the default lowest league and always use large database. The game may run slower than if you used normal database, but large database is the way to go!!

Nations = If you wanna manage blackburn. you pick england
Lowest Active League =

Prem
Championship
League one
League 2

if you pick League 2. u can manage League 2 .. league 1 championship and the prem

Database size...... If you have a good pc u want the biggest one..... then u get more players .. the smaller the DB the less players u get!

Load all players from brazil too

Go to transfer center .. then on the left hand menu go to Search then Staff

Ye i found that, but i only got 1 Chelsea scout and 1 Roma scout, both extremely expensive
