Well, they may have got rid of sven, but not his tactics, nothing at all has changed McClaren pretty much ran the england team back then anyway. The England players are some of the best in the world position by position they just cant work as a team.

Could it be that the reason why you feel that you have the best players position for position is that you watch PL every week and thus only see english players? It is getting a little old with "we have the best players but not the best teamplay....". :(

I think that if people would start to think "well we have good players in each spot, now work as a team and we will have a _chance_ of winning" then england would perform better imho :)

England miss Beckham. End of. Lennon isnt good enough yet. Ok, he can beat a man, but the end product is shocking. I lost count of the nothing balls he put into the box. If it was Beckham that received the pass Phil Neville got in wide open space i would put everything I own on Beckham picking out AJ and the ball being in the back of the net. We arent a danger at set pieces anymore. Lampard was found wanting yet again at international level, but I cannot think of anyone who could replace him. Rooney was dog shit too.

Saying that, england could of and should of won.

LOL, Sorry but Beckham is just an overpaid tart who has lost his touch.

If you knew anything about football id consider your opinion

Haha. To be honest, everyone who has 0 clue about football thinks David Beckham is actually a good player.

He's a worthless piece of shit.

Personally I would drop the lot of them from the squad and use championship players, at least they would have passion and a hunger to win.

Dont pick any from Leeds UTD, wont find any player with passion there, save from Kelly but he's Irish :(

England were dire and to be honest I would like to see the FA pick a fan and ask them to run the team for a couple matches. They would not be scared of dropping certain players.

If we going to continue playing a 4-4-2 system then lampard needs to be dropped. He plays well for Chelsea, that is not under debate, but they play a system that suits him. England system does not and we should not try to accomidate him into it just because of his name.

When you playing with Rooney and Johnson(or owen), you are relying on pace to get the chances. Johnson hasnt got the skill of some the other international players so you cant expect him to take on 4 players and score, therefore you need to feed the ball through the defence fast for him to get on the end off.

Now to play this you really want a couple of wingers that can use their best foot. Putting lennon on the left was stupid, everytime he started to run he either had to check back or try a left foot cross, neither of these were going to really work as his best ability to taking the defender on the outside not coming in. So the best thing to do is stick Lennon on the right for his pace and right footed crosses, Downing on the left (not big fan but he had a decent season and only natural left winger) so he can whip in the ball from that side. Through the middle you can have Hargraves and Gerard which gives you a got mix of defence and distribution, and some decent forward pushing.

Defence, need to start bringing Barry into the left hand side, carragher aint a left back and that could be shown, we had no width with 2 right footers on the left and so we were too narrow all night long. Barry plays on the left most the time and so he would do fine, and would also give us a more forward playing defender as he also plays the left midfield spot well.

We do really struggle up front, but i think that more to do with not playing to our strengths, we try to play a skillful game but we just have not got the ability throughout the team for that, and so we should go back to our natural game. Push on the opposition and break with pace. Feed the ball for the wingers to cross or in behind the defenders. There will be times where can use the skill in the middle of the park to move the ball forward, but to try that all the time is stupidity as last night proved that it just wouldnt work.

Give me a few games in charge of England and I would happily try sort them out, our coaches just need to stop thinking about how to save their jobs and just get on with it, and make more big bold decisions. I Feel they just giving the players too much power and picking players by name, not on ability to fit in the system and current form.

Same old same old.

Lampard out of his depth, players in wrong positions, even though I recall Mclaren in his first interview with Sky saying that he was sick of seeing England playing with square pegs in round holes. He is a FA yes man end of story.
