all the people who play football for clubs for fun or the kids who like to go *outside* and play football , which there is quite a high percentage. A lot of people like football you know

Admittedly lower league clubs have problems with attendances at their matches, but this has always been the case, when did football suddenly 'die'?

think most children play footy during school and after school. problem is that we only get to play it here during winter because its too bloody hot during summer.

It also helps when it is in the football season :)

Wait until the Premiership gets going again, then you can retract this post mate :p

i think not - itv was asking for 80 million £ for a main sponsor at the world cup ( the itv world cup sponsored by a very big company ) and ended up getting only 4 million £ - admittedly thats only one nail in the football coffin, but it's a start

I thought that was because ITV was shit? If football was really going down the drain then surely the players wouldn't be so well known and get paid so much.

I'm unable to take seriously the posts of anyone who puts "lol" after their own statements, especially when there's nothing particularly funny about them. Is it just me? It irritates me almost as much as that fucking hand-clapping smiley.

Yes...

Both the handclappy and using the term "lol" at the end, and sometimes at the start, of your sentances, annoys me.

However football is as popular as it's ever been. The worldcup saw huge audiences for the England games, and premiership and european football is still huge.
Young people are playing football - I played for a team for a couple of years. We were really bad, and i didn't get to play lots, since i was worse than most, but it was fun.

Less people going to watch live football, in the Nationwide leagues, however as long as this happens gradually, there will be no catastraphy.
