Please help me settle an argument, was gerrards goal a fluke or did he aim to hit post and send it in like that.

I would say it was luck but then I am sure people will accuse me of bias.

Bit of a fluke but it doesn't really matter, not as if he doesnt do it regularly.

It was a fluke, he shaped and struck it in a manner to wizz it across the front of the keeper for the person in the box (crouch was it that fell?) to come across and knock in.

This is supported by the slow reaction in celebrating the goal.

That said, if you strike the ball in that way and it goes in then so be it. The best ball into the box from that sort of position is one with pace that could slip into the far post if no one gets a touch and the keeper doesnt react.

So in conclusion, flukey goal, but credit for putting the ball into that sort of area.

Yeh, he meant it to bounce through someone's legs, take a slight deflection, bounce in off the post, he is that skilled he meant for that to happen!
Ofc it was a fluke hehe, was a cross/shot ;)

Another well backed up statement by Keitan, all bask in it's glory!

I think you'll find that only around 6-7% of Lampard's goals have been from deflections :)

im not so sure he hit it with a lot of power, tbh i think he was just taking a pot shot to see what he could do on 91 mins he does it more than often enought

i think their was definatly an element of luck but all the same i think he was trying to go for goal took a deflection which sent it futher wide otherwise keeper probly would ahve saved it ect so dont think it was a cross

It was 100% luck. He was blatantly trying to do a cross in to hit either Kuyt or Crouch, and it even got deflected just a tiny bit didnt it?

And a tiny but off topic, the send off of Mazze, fair or no fair?

Personally I think the first yellow was acting by Torres but that happens sometimes. Why on earth he so obviously pulled down Torres the second time is just beyond me, he deserved to see read after such a rookie mistake imo.

Torres was a bit of a prick in the match to be honest.. it took him about 10seconds+ to decide to go down even for the second yellow card.

Hate Maz, but on that occasion i think the red was rather harsh.

That said it didnt make much diference, and i feel if Cardoba (sp?) did not have to go off injured Inter would have held on for the draw as he was doing great

Yes he meant to cross it, but i am sure he also felt it had a chance of going in if he got it in the area he wanted. Its like a shot to nothing in Snooker, if the player misses the pot the white is safe, if he sinks it woop woop. Either way its not a fluke. If gangle fuck had managed to stay upright and nailed it in the back of the net, would you be saying olol fluke he meant to shoot near post or some such. Dont get me started on super Franks super shanks :p.
