He is crap, his team is crap, any team who hires him will be crap.

Avoid him like plague. Most overrated player in Europe (among the likes of Luis Garcia).

Agree with that ^^

Funny how Liverpool were shouting from the rooftops how much money they've got to spend this summer and how many superstars would be coming to Anfield.

Whereas the reality is they're yet to actually sign anyone yet, and only one of their 'superstars' in Torres will sign for them, probably.

Well, I think Torres is a good player but not a crack.

About 'superstar' thing... well... maybe not but ask nike (he earns more money from adverts than from his team) ;)

Edit: BTW, a crappy player that half England wants (ManU,Shitsea,Liverpool...) and other good teams like Inter Milan.

You live in Spain so you've probably seen a lot more of him than i have, but coming from a Real Madrid season ticket holder and as he plays for Atletico................ think i'll take your comment with a pinch of salt :p. Have to admit in the latest round of internationals he didnt look so hot, but in previous tournaments he was very impressive. Between him and Villa i would have rather taken Villa, but Torres is quicker and more athletic so could develop into a better player in the end. Your right about Garcia being crap, but everyone knows he is shit so i dont think he is overrated:p That said he has scored some fucking important goals for us over the years. Torres has been top scorer every year at Atletico so he is proven, but 25 mill is a tad steep. 18 million would be fair price imo. I am so pleased we didnt get ripped off for Bent. 16.5 MILLION is an absolute joke. The amount of cash that Spurs have spent on playeres in the last 3 years must challenge Chelsea, but its just kept quiet because they dont win anything.

Agree with that ^^

Such a biAtch Vlad! Is the first time in over a decade we have had as much money to spend as the other big teams so why not shout about it. Also the owners always played down how much they would spend and so did Benetiz.

I don't rate Villa tbh.

He managed absolute fuck all in both legs against us in the CL quarter final, very quiet, very easy to take out the game.

Keitan - A lot left of what?

Villa is highly doubtfull leaving Valencia (well, not w/o handing 50-60M € to Valencia´s treasure).

And 'bout Torres. Yes, as a RM tiffosi i dont simpatice much with Atletico (to put it with good manners), but when it comes to rating players, i dont mind which team they play for.
Torres is a kind of jack_of_all_trades forward. Can manage to score a bunch of goals per season ('bout 15 per season), but far from a pure striker like Drogba, VN, Crespo, Sheva.... Hes quite fast and quite "vertical", but not enuff to compare himself with Etoo, Villa, J.Cole, Messi, Sneijder,... who are able to rip throu a defense coming from behind or score from distance. He has quite good technique (arguably, ive only seen him do the same dribling over n over), but hes not Ibrahimovic, Kaka or Robinho by a mile.
After all, i dont think he should play the 9 role in a team. Maybe a "7" with a pure striker with him, tho u could argue the use of him on this role when u check he wouldnt score more than 8 goals there. Moreover, hes not good at freekicks, and i'd rather prefer my 3yo nephew kicking penalties than him.... and he wets his pants vs. big teams (except Barca, dont ask me why).

Maybe hes not 100% crap, but the fact that some ppl think hes a "star" when hes just your average "club's youth" player, made me rate him as plain crap :p
And ofc, you must be crazy to pay 25M pounds for him

Ok, here is my take on it. Diego Forlan has outscored Torres in both of the last two seasons, Rudd Van Nistelrooy blew both of them out of the water this year with 33 goals in 43 games (all competitons). Rudd has done it consitently for the best part of a decade at 3 different clubs in 3 different leagues. Forlan is a good player but he struggled in England even when he had amazing service from both Giggs and Beckham. If Torres isn't as consistent a goal scorer as Forlan then I honestly think he could be a big mistake for Liverpool and I very much doubt he is in the same class as Van Nistelrooy, his overall or even recent goalscoring record just doesn't indicate that he is as good as the hype suggests.

Comparing Van The Man with Torres when it comes to rate strikers, is just like comparing a Ferrari with a Skoda..... :twak:

In the few games Spain played in the World Cup he looked very hot. Man United were after him as were Chelsea, he suddenly becomes shit when Liverpool are going to buy him. If we were having the same conversation about Drogba 2 years ago i could say exactly the same shit. 25 million for a player that was outscored by Djibrill Cisse in the French League. Comparing him to Van Nistelroy is zz. Van Nistelroy is a vetren poacher who plays with his head and he is fucking good at it no doubt. If i could have him over Torres i would, because Liverpool need someone like that. However Torres is much younger and has raw talent so could develop in to being a great player. Spanish players have never really succeded in Premiership (hi 2 u Morientes), but i really hope Torres is different.

2 of those 3 players make me want to stop watching football.

Crouch, is a joke, Torres isnt that good. Villa is a nifty youngster who ive heard a lot about.

Lets face it, no team on this planet have had the best bargain of the summer, and thats Henry to Barca

Villa/torres maybe good in a few years time, not if they go to Liverpool though, they have a habit of buying promising young strikers and making them shit.

people have to keep in mind that still is young, and he didn't exactly have the best team to back him up. He achieved alot in Atletico.

With that said, I dont think he will fit in with english football.

Think i have to agree.

Liverpool play shit football, they need 2 very good wingers, and 2 decent strikers before i can take them seriously.

They are a good cup team though, fuck knows why.

Imo, they should have kept Fowler, he is a Kopite through and through

Well, according to latest news on spaniard telies, you, reds fans, are very close to check his perfomance by yourself next year.

PS: no refunds allowed :p

PS2: Cesc, Reina n Xabi Alonso were quite sucessful n a good bargain at Premier id say

haha I thought Liverpool trying for Torres was funny. Man City throwing their hat in the ring as well is hilarious.

We'll have Wigan putting in a bid for Kaka next.........:)

Fowler screwed up his career though...was class striker.

Yea he did, but he could still be there for cup games and the occasional subs appearance.

You know he is going to go into coaching one day, I just hope its with Liverpool

I doubt he will make a good coach. His problem has always been self discipline, from the huge boozing sessions, gambling addiction and recreational drug use. He makes no apologies for any of that, to me that says he doesn't give a fuck because it is his life and he will live it how he pleases. Not the right attitude for a coach and what a dreadful role model he would make for younger players. You can't expect discipline from young players you are coaching if you have none yourself.

The guy pissed away a great talent, he had the potential to be the next great goalscorer for England but his priorities have always been Robbie Fowler and how much fun can he have without getting caught.

Have watched Torres play in a couple of liverpool games. Have to say I think he looks good. Has a good touch and awareness of whats around him and he causes defenses problems.

Liverpool certainly look better when he's on the pitch imo.

Liverpool fans, I wouldn't worry too much about the doom merchants. After Henry left everyone was saying Arsenal were going to be shit! Soon proved wrong. Playing their best football for a few seasons.

Arsenal and Liverpool are currently playing the most attractive football in the Premiership with Man Utd close third.

Liverpool attractive Football :p they just come of the back of 2 0-0 draws no disrespect to Birmingham but no team like that should be getting a draw at Anfield.
