Kneecap tendon fracture, expected minimum 9 months at bay.

His current contract with Milan runs out at the end of June, and its being said that its is posible that Ronaldo may announce his retirement from football in the next weeks.

What a sad way of ending the career of a player who could have been among Pele, DiStefano or Maradona as one of the greatest if not for his injury record and his uncapability when it came to professionalism and meet team's commitments.
I for one enjoyed him a lot when he played for my team. I specially remember his hat trick vs Manchester at Old Trafford 3-4 years ago.

Farewell Ronaldo :(

I don't think he'll retire - possibly go back to play in Brazil for his final years.

*Chuckles* strangely when i read your comment, i had an image of Maradonna come into my head.

About Ronaldo. He was an amazing player early on that never managed to fulfil his full potential. He was a professional and loved to play, and whilst he never managed to achieve what he was really capable of, its still a blow to the game. If he doesn't play again, i'd expect to see him move into coaching or something.

How did he fail to fulfil his full potential?

And still he could have been even greater with more self-discipline and some luck with injuries... :)

Thats exactly what i think yes. I used to watch him with great interest, and he had the potential to be even better than he was. He never seemed to be fully fit due to always sustaining some knock or other (not his fault, but some players are just more prone to injury than others) and could be more than a little eccentric on the field at times. Although that isn't always a bad thing. He's one of the greats of our generation without a doubt, but he could of been even better.

Whilst on the subject of Brazilian footballers, watch out for Breno who has just signed for Bayern. He is something else. Was captain of Brazil under 23s at the age of 17. Hes only 18 now, but Real Madrid pulled out of signing him because they dont believe he is only 18 lol

I never liked him - but I must say he is a big loose for AC Milan. Was looking forward to see him and Kaka together.

Dammit.

he is by far one of the coolest strikers ever. "Everybody calls me fat, but I shut their mouths by scoring every match"

Sao Paulo are going to help him back on track.
