To blame chelsea for way money is wrecking football is retarded, please go check and see what teams spent most this season for example. Im pretty sure man united spent more than chelsea and yet no one comments on that. Imo it would be great if next seasona few more teams got lots of money and became very good to make the league even more interesting.

Im not blaming chelsea, just overall how football has gone to ridiculous amount of wages, yes i should not complain because wolves are now owned by a rich backing and if promoted MM will probably have the best part of £30million to spend on players, but to me that ridiculous.

Though alot has to lie on the blame of glory hunters, these ridiculous amounts about... why o why support a team thats 300 odd miles away when you have a local league team at your doorstep!?!

Chelsea came out in the green last summer - and if Drogba is on his way out as are hopefully a number of other players it may be the same this summer.

Not one of those fees are correct but I will leave you to live in your deluded fantasy world. ;)

i disagree
rio was 30 million
rooney 20 rising to a possible 30

(both from mufc official website *yes i feel dirty*)

nani and anderson werent priced on site but i recall it being £30 for the pair

veron 28.1 million

so all in all he was £5m off nani/anderson

1.9mill off veron

spot on with rio

and in a few years tiem spot on with rooney

Rooney deal was 31, Rio was 33, Haaregreaves was 17 (ok i was in euros for this one :p), Nani was 17, Anderson was 18, Veron was 28.

They are very close to what i estimated.

Every single one of those were made up of sizeable clauses. So far we have paid £10 million a peice for Nani and Anderson, we never paid upon all the clauses for Veron as he didn't meet all the targets. Same for Rooney so far as well and he didn't cost £31 million either it was £29 million which was paid in installments over 3 years, Everton will be due £2 million if and when we win the European Cup. As for Hargreaves and Carrick, £13 million down payment on each with the rest to be paid partially in installments and some on based on success. Rio was £28 million but the tabloid press love to say otherwise.

Cho where are you getting this information from? The MUFC site seems to go against what you are saying in some cases;

Rio; "The 2002 World Cup provided Rio with the stage to make the transformation from budding talent to accomplished defender, and his performances in Japan convinced Sir Alex Ferguson to part with a massive £30million."

Haaregreaves "His eventual fee was closer to £17million when the transfer finally went through, and Hargreaves had become one of European football’s most highly-thought of defensive midfielders."

Carrick "However, he only scored two goals in 64 games and it seemed this low strike-rate would continue at United, at least for the first few months following his £14million transfer (this fee could eventually rise to £18.6million)."

The Rooney figure was correct - and the Nani/Anderson ones are undisclosed but Wiki totals them at around £35m

I dont mind us spending money on top class players, you always have to pay over the odds for top English talent. We made a good return on Veron to Chelsea :p As well as picking up a decent sum for Beckham.

I also think that you can look at the marketing aspects of the players bought aswell.

Considering that we still have have alot of players that came through the ranks getting in the team and sitting on the bench we didnt exactly buy a new team.
