As far he knows, the reports are coming from the keep guards. Who aren't known for playing practical jokes - so from his pov the numbers were confirmed.

then he needs to learn the difference from the guard spam to when someone writes in and fakes guard spam

well i was pretty busy when it happened. and when you see a guard spam from a keep (however it was not for real ofc) and you see the numbers increasing dramatically, i think the best thing to do is to report it asap.
Finding someone to run to the keep to confirm something already spammed by keep guards was just a waste of time imo. Only makes you lose the keep.
And i knew there was someone on the keep as i saw the 1person guard spam before.

Oh well shit happens, everyone makes mistakes. It was a good prank, lots of ppl fell for it. Just a shame it had to go this far

Its not just your alliance that got that, it started to spread like wildfire. Whether it was a joke or not, you did nothing to confirm it was a joke on /gu, you just sat back and laughed - funny? yes, harmfull to the realm as a whole? definatly

Well look at it this way. Person like me who enjoys playing, dont have time atm to play much and I try to help the realm anytime I just have time. I see someone saying in /as that a member of TDS (used to be great guild but past 3 or so months have just had nothing but bad experiences of em) says there is alot enemies and we having the relics its not hard to tell where 100+ enemies might be heading. Im not just going to sit that someone logs mini and goes to see em and then I just log/suicide. Because 1. If all just sit and wait for someone to log mini relics will be taken from the mids by hibs and handed back to us before we get to defence 2. with the ML's smashing the door in about 2 minutes there is no time to get anyone there in time if we wait.

And now to the real point. I would suicide/log when I get the message and by the time I hear its a joke I would have wasted about 10 mins of my time. Logging back another toon or running back to what I was doing another 5-20 minutes depending what it was I was doing. So this person who was "joking" spent just about 30 minutes of the little time I have to play and made the playing experience totally opposite what it would have possible been that is fun. And if that still feels funny to most people let me know when you doing artifact encounters or ML's that can be reset or messed with some other way and I can come along to throw some good "jokes" if you want to waste time.

There is nothing wrong making jokes and I would have found that funny in guild but when it got to /as and turned into a lie and the person who took the sceenshot laughing at it and having /as does nothing but that. Well some find it funny some dont. I dont.

Well depends on the keep, the furthest one will take just over 7 mins to reach on a mincer (assuming no random aggro on the way) and that assumes you have a mincer with speed 5 (not just a /level alt) logged in sauvage just for checking keeps, personally I don't . He confirmed them by the guild spams which he thought were system messages. There should be no more confirmation needed than that, anything else is simply a waste of time, also with current MLs (faultfinder etc) even two minutes wasted will be a lot of damage done to your keep doors.

Personally it would be my feeling that you shouldn't have to second guess everything just because your so-called guildmates are trying to make a fool out of you...

After all, then everytime everyone hears a call of /as 50 mids on xxx, each individual person would have to log an alt to check if it was true, we can't trust that any of the other people who say "it's really an attack!" are telling the truth can we? You wouldn't want to be the only one who shows up if it's another joke afterall!

This could *perhaps* be percieved to be true, if the perpetrator had stopped after the people started announcing it on /as, however, he continued to do it for a while more at which point you can't possibly say he was doing anything other than continuing to make his own guildmates look silly for his personal amusement.

personally trust doesnt even come into it....it was a joke...ok an old joke...but this would have all been avoided if the person who reported it in /as could tell the difference between system msgs and written msgs...then all this would of been avoided.
