You don't have to cycle in Fog Tom, so how could it "own"?
edit:// Is it me, or are drivers bigger ***** when it's shit weather? Surely they should drive more safely but instead; tend not to give way, or overtake at stupid moments. :/
Fog is great because it looks so ethreal, even makes modern towns and cities look like something that Jack the Ripper would be proud to gut Prostitutes in.
Open fields are the best for it though, not being able to see just 10 feet away from you but knowing there's a huge mass of land right there.
Flew back to Manchester from Dublin around midday today, amazing to see fog across huge swathes of the north west and the few areas where buildings and chimneys poked out of the top.
Must be terrifying for pilots to land in that sort of weather, couldn't see anything below the fog from above and once inside was near zero visibility.
Left the house at 5am, was a bit foggy, got to manchester airport, flight was delayed.
coming back, had to go to london because the smaller citycraft don't have low visibility landing capability, so had to get a 757 from frankfurt to london, then another one from london to manchester, but they were hording everyone on them, so it took for fucking ever, should have been back around 6-7 hours ago.
Oh well, driving on the motorway in a peasouper is always fun.
It was so foggy last night I actually missed the side turning to get into Burger King, had to drive another mile up the road in near-zero visibility to bust a U-ey at the next roundabout. I was not impressed.
You want to try it after about 5 weeks in the Hymalayas and being used to seeing mountains become distance-blue'd out about 100 miles away.
A fog rolled in one lunchtime and we all went up onto the roof of the building - couldn't see ten feet in front of you. The Indian guys who we were with had never seen fog before!
We had to calm them down and explain that we get it all the time in the UK and it wasn't anything to worry about
Wasn't there something in the news about there being a 65% chance of a really cold winter this year? something to do with Atlantic Cycles whatever that means!
Day before yesterday was driving from the Midlands (nasty place) back home via Cambridgee to Sussex. One minute it was really sunny the next it was a fog patch and the ice had really come down making everything look like a winter wonderland!
I like this sort of weather also makes me glad I have a quick clear windscreen
