Anyone had any experiences with these and could recommend a decent one? There are plenty to chose from, and various prices.
I never even knew such things existed until the weekend. One car has a decent mp3 stereo so I can just plug in memory stick and alls well but, my work car I'm looking for it to be a solution for me to play music from my phone through my crap car stereo. CD's seems such a chore these days

The problem is trying to find a free (ie not being used by a station) clean frequency to use for it to transmit to...

I used a Griffin RoadTrip with my ipod for about 2 years and it was fantastic, the Clearscan feature was brilliant. So I can recommend Griffin and the Clearscan products.

Yeah I used a couple of these on an old car for a while, and as dysfunction said, if you are travelling around the country a lot they are a pain in the backside as local radio stations tend to eat up the frequencies. If it is only for relatively local use though, they cheap ones like the kensington one is OK. I used the Griffin roadmaster on trips from wales to London and South Wales to manchester a few dozen times and it is good, but you still end up having to mess around to find free channels.

Cheers guys, I will take a look at the Griffin range. Also wondering if I might be as well just buying a new cheap car stereo with usb/bluetooth. I have seen a jvc one for £60.

I replaced my RoadTrip with a new head unit so i could get my steering controls working. So if its an option a new head unit might be the best option.

a new headunit, or bring an aux lead through via the back of the existing radio through the glovebox for a cheaper fix.
