otherwise known as 'the day the ants fight back!'

swarms. everywhere. it only gets worse later. is it happening anywhere else today?
its a really strange phenomenon where all the ant queens and a 'king' leave the nests and take off to start new colonies on the same day, as though they are 'talking' to each other from miles around.
if i were a zoologist it would probably be the thing i studied until the day i died!

Seen a couple of today, not that many, but their riding trams, busses, carwindows.

They're only missing cellphones and the gibberjabber that people do on them.

Much more pleasent to travel with :D

Apparently the female flying ants can ley eggs in your hair. When the maggots hatch they can bury through your skull into your brain and take over your body.

Bet you didn't know that !

If they can get to George Bush, they can get to YOU !

Look at your family. Your wife. Your partner. Your friends. They might be ant-controlled !

Well, I spent a good 20 minutes yesterday burning ants and those little bastards with 'shells' on them (small black things, no snails) with a cigarette and lighter. Fuck them all -_-

just saw a shit load of flying ants - the first batch I've seen this year - outside the back of our house. Thousands of the bastards

the birds were swooping down picking them off & grabbing the stragglers on the ground

Here as well, Merelbeke near Gent - Belgium. When I came home I saw 2 of those flying ants, when I looked a bit further, under the coach at the window, I saw more then 100... In an appartment that is 6 yrs 'old', glad I rent the place.

I was lucky they weren't able to fly (yet?) thou, that would have messed up the place totally. Got them cleared up with the vacuum-cleaner.

Bunch of queers, I have to deal with mosquitoes, cockroach's, ants (big biters), biting centipedes, reptiles, snakes, spiders, you name it ....

Can't even open my door for more then 3seconds after 6pm, currently I have bites or something big and red on my elbows. Itching like a crack addiction all day and keeping me up 2 nights in a row!

Opened my balcony door this morning and a small reptile ran in under my sofa, don't mind because they eat the bad shit.

Took a pic of this guy last month on my island holiday

I can safely say I'd nail my windows and doors shut and never venture outside if beasties like that were outside my bloody house

It's been fucking swarming with flies and all sorts of flying creepy crawlies today like, worst day ever. I had a bloody swarm of flies following me, this swarm was half the size of me?!?/! I've never driven my van so fast trying to get away from the fuckers.

About a month ago the "horse" ants swarmed in Sweden, huge buggers, can become up to 18 mm long.

I can't think of a way to put this without you all taking the ... But I presume that's why there was something large and black and unidentifiable crawling round my hall today. I did a good immitation of having a heartattack and had to catch and dispatch it!

That's odd - usually they appear when its more humid than it is currently - often near the end of a dry spell.

Also these:

They can get up to 25 - 30 mm in lenght. The bite hurts as hell. Basically they use their jaws to pierce the skin to be able to suck blood from horses and other cattle. They are huge. Also you can hear the buzzing from far away, like a small jetplane.

One landed on me some time ago, but luckily i were able to "remove" it before it could take a bite. Disgusting.

Horsefly - on the plus side they are so large you can usually feel them land on you and quickly slap them - bites can cause a reaction.

Luckily a family(of two it seems) of hedgehogs have taken refuge in the backyard bush. They get noms from us and they eat/deter a lot of bugs. Win win.

Also helps to have some birdfeed and squirrel feed out. F*ing zoo out there.
