This was my favourite film as a child and I've just found out that Disney are remaking it. I'm more than a little worried that they'll ruin it as I can't see any way it could be made better.

Anyone else here have fond memories of Flight of the Navigator?

Yes it was an awesome film.

The film companies really do need to fuck off with their shit remakes, clearly they have no ideas about what to do now but need to make money.

It really pisses me off.

I remember seeing in in Smash Hits or something, and thinking how utterly awesome the ship was. It was a great film for kids, and still is.

I found it for the most part slow and boring as a kid, but strangely still have some good memories about it.

It's not being re-made for us, it was a kids film then and if it is re-made it still will be. If kids like it then it's done well, no matter whether we think it compares well to the original or not.

Hehe minor classic this. If Disney are remaking it, I'm rather I'm surprised tbh, I wouldn't have thought it worth their time.

That said, I wonder if it was someone who also loved it as a child and decided they wanted to do a Peter Jackson on it.

Ok, its probably just a money-mulching moron after ze bucks.

It might be cheaper for them to release the origional on a super 10 disc BLURAY special edition in stainless steel box with postcards and 47 hours of extra material.

Isnt that the usual way?

Do remember this fondly too. Can't imagine a remake being too hot, but then again just look at the Herbie thing.
