I was once chased from a swimming pool to my tent by flies while on hols in friggin Germany, not the place you'd expect dehydrated flies to congregate. Surprisingly aggressive beasties too.

Yeah, german flies are nasty. Highly effective and well organized. And the constant supply of beer makes them aggressive too.
