Flickering Moniter

My LCD moniter has started flickering, well when i say flickering, i mean it keeps going light and dark. You know when a strip light is about to blow and if you dont look directly at it, then you notice it more....am i making sense??

I have tried adjusting the settings but it only makes the screen go up and down and left and right. Its a LG 22"

Also when i turn it on i get message on the screen saying "processing self image setting" and the whole screen is blurry and then kind of pops back to into focus

And no i don't have the instructions, i'm a bloke, i never read them and they went in the bin with the box

Checked your refresh rate settings in windows?

To build on what nath said, it should most probably be 60hz, if it is more or less, set it to 60, and make sure the "hide modes this monitor cannot display" box is checked.

Ok, its set at 60hz, it doesn't give me any other option, and the box is checked

Had a look on AV Forums and there seems to be a power supply problem with the LG's, but also noticed that they give a 36 month warranty, and its only a year and a half old atm. I have sent a mail to LG, so i will see what comes of it
