Hey,

Nearly every single movie I see on the net is made by flash. However I go to their website and I'm not sure which software is right. The MX is around 600 pounds?!

I've used basic programs like Eztoon for making little mainly stickmen movies. However, I'd like to use colour and music to make my animations feel, look and sound better. If I'm making some massive mistake then fine, I'm a n00b at computers...All I need is some help on what flash I should get and how much its gonna cost me etc. etc.

Thanks in advance

And on a completey random subject...why can't I play AVI's on my comp? I have WinMX and Windows Media Player (which I don't really use).

We've had a play with SoThink Glanda 2005, an alternative to Flash MX 2004 and much cheaper: http://www.sothink.com/

Seems to work quite nicely. There is also the Flash 4 Linux project on sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/f4l which is free of course :)

As you know, there are animation tools that can save in SWF format (Flash movie), I'm no expert, but these guys have a good list: http://swftools.com/

HTH,
Phil.
