Well I installed it in the wee hours of this morning, and everything, soundcard, nic, mouse, kb, vid card etc all worked straight off.

Only pain is the resolution issue, which I'll have sorted tonight with new drivers & a new nvidia kernal.

heh you can't make me believe that reinstalling your os every so often because it mysteriously 'broke' is not masochistic in any way lol. the way I read it be: windows is for masochists, linux is both for fags and masochists
thusly, linux inherently appeals to a larger target audience
somehow I miss the reference to bearded, slippered unix hackers in all that, but perhaps it's due to my being ill still.

Found out why:

The temporary injunction issued by the regional court in Munich, Germany against SuSE Linux, has become obsolete with immediate effect. Consequently, SuSE can continue to distribute its operating system SuSE Linux 7.3.

So you should be able to get it from them again.
