Bah, bad rip of a Leonard Cohen song....

Ok, off on Monday to Berlin for another short break. Piccies are guaranteed on return. But what I am looking for is some anecdotal experience of the place. It's all very well looking it up on wiki etc and getting details. But if you aint on the ground, you know shit! Right on.....

Tell me what you know of the place from being there if any of you have been.

Depends on what you want to see. Berlin is pretty big.

KaDeWe, the biggest shopping store in Germany. If you want to see EMPTY caviar cans being sold for 50 Euros.. that´s the place to go. :)

The "Alexanderplatz" with the huge TV tower is quite impressive. And of course, there´s the "Brandenburger Tor" where you can also visit the remains of the Berlin Wall.

Berlin is known as the city where you can buy the best "Currywurst" in Germany. Just go to any fast food store and order one... it´s worth it. :)

dont miss riding their U-Bahn, seems kinda pointless but I atleast find it very enjoyable the times i've been there.

when i was down there i found this huuuuge concrete "labyrinth" close to where the wall had run filled with graffiti on both sides. sadly i have been there twice both times school related so had to waste alot of time doing what they had planned :(
Their musical preformances usually are very good and usually worth a visit

Berlin was great
Went there about 4 years ago - 3 day conference from work - spent most of it getting drunk
One of the directors got pissed...and he's about as straight laced as you can get - married, kids, etc...anyway, cut long story short...he end up at a transvestite bar till 4am !

He came down to breakfast and didn't know how he ended up there or what he did there (more worrying)
