Shame. He was a nice bloke. I met him about 12 years ago; he was doing VO work for Sky with the late great Colin Ravey (RIP), and he came out for a drink (although he wasn’t touching booze). Genuine nice guy. Sad.

So 2017 is nearly done, and no doubt someone will shortly start a 'first one of 2018' thread. I guess it is inevitable that more and more well known faces will die each year as there was a rapid expansion in 'celebrity' in the 60's and 70's and those people are now getting to that age.

The BBC have put together this review of the year and the are a few I missed in there. It's been another sad year, along with a few that won't be missed (Manson, Brady).

I don't think it has anything to do with a type of device, it's just a different (and once novel) way of integrating imagery into an article.
