First impressions of EVE

Man, you were mining too-common ores then..... hour of mining in starter ship got me up to a navitas, 2 hours got me an imicus, around 2 hours + the sale of my imi got me a tristan....
2 seconds to get PK'd and end up back in starter n00b ship

I tried it a while in phase 5 & 6. Didn't like it, mostly because of the bad lag/whatever. However I can't see it having much content... I liked Earth And Beyond too... but it got boring very fast. Trying Planetside now, I think it will get boring quite fast also. Might try PS again after release or when I get a better computer to see if it gets better.

main problem with EVE seemd to be the lack of interaction

I mean, when I got into beta (phase 6), I read as much as i could, so I didn't have to ask noob questions every minute

but to me, there was little, or no incentive to group at all. After all, there are no benefits to grouping (forming a gang)... you don't mine faster, you don't move faster.
I tired getting a few people together for some largescale mining, just clearing out belt after belt and then splitting the money afterwards. Guess in a corp, this would work, but with random Joe Doe's, it just aint gonna happen.

Of course not, but why does it NEED to happen? You won't be able to PvP solo much so there's an incentive to group. You CAN get money from mining faster if you're working with a team, so there's another. Escort on trading runs? Etc etc.

I know a 3 people who raked in 3 million ISK within a couple of hours from starting in EVE 2 did the mining and the other made the run back to the station. It was not long till they where in Bursts and a Probe mining ships and a large frigate cargo carrier.

Well, seems in just the last day they went and nerfed the hell out of the ships and buffed the NPCs way up..meantime changing the combat dynamics dramatically against the players. Also, cargo space was decreased, mining times were increased, and ore density seems to have also been tinkered.

Guess they thinking it wasnt enough of a boring time-sink as it was, needed to make it worse and add a strong dose of frustration on top.

It is shiit now for certain. What type of idiot completely changes the combat and money system dynamics 2 days from release?!?

Oh, and the majority of posters on the beta board are not very happy with the game in the state it is, dont think it is ready for release, etc, and apparently many are programmers...some pretty highbrow analysis on the boards...can barely folllow it =(.

Damn shame is all I can say.

you dont read anything do you glendower in the last days off beta all ships cost almost nothing and all kinda shit happens. What you see now is a have some fun beta players, but it is not what you see at release

Boy, what the hell kind of crack are you smoking?

They raised the ship cost of the smallest cruiser from 1mil to 5mil.

I am all over the boards and I assure you that it is about 2/3 of folks posting say it isnt ready to go due to instability, bugs, etc. Most of the ones who say they dont care are those very pro-PvP folks who want in first so they can overpower all the later folk and grief them.

What you are thinking of is the end of beta event where we all get to have maxxed skills and free money to buy all the best items in the game

It is not a feature of release, lol.
