First Car

I got my first car last night. I've driven it a couple of times to work and back. Everything is fine, its just I get really nervous driving it. I don't know whether its the fear of crashing (after seeing them horrible adverts on TV where you see the crash).

Something that really bugs me aswell is the dickheads that drive really close, your in a 40mph limit and i'm going about 35-40 yet they urge you to go faster. Its so so so tempting to slam the brakes on, to make him/her shit themselves. I'm not your stereotypical essex boi, I like to be careful, drive slowly, and not like a maniac, but its so hard to be careful when you have to worry about so many other idiots on the road.

I bet everyone else feels the same about this and i'll get more confident when ive been driving for longer.

Well i still have my 1st Fiat Panda and proud of it, 20 years old and still running on 4 wheels w/o visiting a mechanic.

When im on the road I just laugh at the ppl behind me if they got pissed with my speed (which often is the max speed of the car actually ). However, when i drive inside the city im like Speedy Gonzalez, nothing beats the flexibility and easiness of a small car in the ole' continent narrow streets.

indeed dudley... just drive slow, if they want to risk their life let them. Once it happened to me but it was a taxi... he was actually flashing me to go faster. I was in an unknown location doing the speed limit and he kept flashing me, so i stuck my fingers up in the mirror. Anyway he overtook me at about 50 and 200 yard down the road i saw him being pulled over by a copper which was hiding in a layby. I was loving driving past him at about 20

Good game to play with the dick muchers who sit too close to your arse is just slow down. When they can't overtake you drop to 20 when they back off speed back up. If they don't just keep them there at 20. I do it nearly every day to the twats in escorts around essex it is brilliant fun to watch them getting pissed off. ohh and if they flash go slower

Course I am Cerb, read my post again! When you see a speed limit, it's actually the law to double it and only go that speed, it's a prisonable offence to go slower then that.

Cheers for the advice guys, will just slow down if they are right up my arse. Also why the hell do people honk the horn when you go slower than usual into a side-road because there is traffic up that side-road, so theres not really any place to go. What do they expect me to do, smash into the cars in front?!
