Fireworks

Anyone going to a display this year, or ya gonna buy a load from the shops and set em off in your back garden ? Or are you one of those who don't bother with either and just watch em from your bedroom window ?

I'm going to the Leeds Castle display this year. But can't help feeling that they should just explode 1million pounds of fireworks in 10 minutes rather than dragging it out over an hour

Edit: When my dog was alive, he was absolutely terrified of them and used to hide in the downstairs toilet LOL poor thing. I guess its a nightmare time of year for pets, what with Ramadan, Guy Fawlkes Night, and kids letting them off anyold time.

Might go to London this time round - went to Edinburgh last year and was a bit disappointing to tell the truth. Having said that, might go to the big one in Leeds city centre - apparently they had pyrotechnics and all sorts last year

On the 5th of november brits have a fireworks night to remember "the gunpowerder plot" when a man named guy falwkes plotted to blow up the houses of parliment.

Not bothering - did Disneyland Florida earlier this year and after seeing the firework shows they put on in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot I can't imagine seeing anything in the UK that will compare, so will just stick on the tape we made of it and watch that methinks and close the curtains and go Bah Humbug !

We used to sellotape bangers up - so the blow hole on the side was covered and then in our theory it would make a louder bang - or sellotape a few together for the same effect - but one day a mate of mine lit one he had sellotaped and threw it, but the sellotape must not have been stuck down on the banger as after he thought he threw it - we had to point out it was still stuck to his hand - ooo how we laughed as it exploded whilst he was still trying to get it off - luckily it must have been a cheapo one as he still has all his fingers etc

We also used to stand around the centre circle on a footy pitch, one of us would light a screecher rocket and then throw it spinning into the middle of the circle - and everyone would run for their lives... ooo how we used to laugh as a rocket screamed past your ear nearly impaling you or blinding you...



Sometimes when you look back at stuff you did when you were younger...its nice to realise you actually are still alive even in the face of gross stupidity...

We used to get Sulphur I think it was - Yellow evul stinky stuff from a local port - the trains that shipped it spilled it occasionally. Stick that on a doorstep and light it - when they open the door the draught would pull the smell in - pure evil

Best fireworks night was when we went to Alton Towers for it, wonderful show backed by the towers themselves, lovely.
