Firewall and PC security etc

Just a quick bit of advice, most know some don't...

If you don't have a firewall....get one. If you don't have any anti-virus software....get some. If you don't ever do windows updates....do it now. If you keep your passwords in hotmail or on your desktop...put them somewhere else.

Check all the above regularly for updates/patches (at least once a week).

If your PC is a standalone box and doesn't have the need to share files on a local network remove File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks from the network control panel settings, it's not needed and removes MANY potential hack entry points.
