Right click in any text entry field - pick Languages -> Add Dictionaries...

then pick English (British) from the list in the browser and install it.

I downloaded the en-uk version. Seems to be improvement compared to 1.5 I had earlier. Worth installing.

Not fussed about the spelling part but the rest of it is refined and nice to use.

Don't think I'd ever go back to IE, if I couldn't use Firefox I'd have to use Opera.

Was using a rather nice theme for Firefox which hasn't been updated yet -- Hope it is soon. Not seen any differences really but then i've not been looking for any either.

Not too keen on how Microsoft have muddled around the buttons in IE..

mmmSpellCheck. I know you think you don't want it, but as someone who's become clinically dependent on his Mac (which has system wide spell check) I swear it's fabulous.

The other excellent feature that is only getting half reported is the integration of tab restoration after a Firefox or Windows crash. Firefox does now automatically restore your tabs (and keeps closed tabs available on the History menu) but when it restores after a crash it will also bring back everything you had been typing into the page as well. So if OSX crashed now (being hypothetical of course), this post I'm writing would still be in the textbox when Firefox came back again.

I'm currently a bit torn as to whether to give Firefox another proper go or whether to stick with Safari.

Hmm I was lied to! I was told FF would underline my bad spelling.


Edit: Seems I need to install a dictionary (right click the field). dousn't autamticolly splel check tho, neeed to rghit cilck.

You can. I am not sure if is in the vanilla FF2 options, but it is on mine with tabbrowser preferences extension installed.

And Tom, check the options, that setting is still there too,

using it now. tested the spellchecker and it does indeed seem to work. everything made it through the transition smoothly and FF2 nicely upgraded adblock et al to the FF2 versions. done some very slight tweaking to the UI but other than that all is well tbh.

I haven't been able to find anything in about:config that suggests it will move the tabs to the bottom, but I have removed the big red close button from them, that was hit too many times in a hurry by me!

Go to tools > options > tabbed browsing > display options > display tabbar on bottom of window.
