Firefox (the techie-types browser on choice) has been officially updated.

Big features jump since 0.8 (extension manager, theme manager, new extension format, auto-update, new theme, faster, some new CSS support), though from initial reaction it seems that it's not as stable as 0.8 was. I hit a problem installing some extensions earlier on that caused me to start again, it's either the "Tab Browser Preferences" extension, or alternatively it breaks when you install more than one extension at once (still need to restart the browser after installing each extension).

However, seems to be very, very nice indeed. Only one more release (a 1.0beta) before it reaches 1.0 too, so it's stability from now on for the next 2 months I believe. Which should result in something very solid indeed. Hopefully.

What? I got adblock working great (bar having to enter all my blocked URL's again...)

Since the extensions link takes you to a new site you can get the old ones here

http://www.texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/

I could not get googlebar to work at all.

Tabbrowser extensions was buggy (And also added an annoying grey line to the left of the browser window) but it did work.

(Actually, thinking about it I may have had TBP installed at the same time which might explain my problems...)

Tabbrowser preferences, although not showing up in the extensions list, did actually install and I managed to change the settings with Configuration Mania.

For those finding that extensions aren't showing up:

1) The extension format has changed, so there are still some straggler extensions that haven't updated to the new format and wont install properly.

2) There is, however, a "Show Old Extensions" extension, which apparently lets you access them, no idea how that works though.

I'm actually back on 0.8 again as I managed to corrupt my profile in Windows just by installing/uninstalling extensions. Wasn't hugely impressed I must say. I may emerge it into my Gentoo install in a bit, since I've actually got Linux working as a primary operating system at last :D
